There is something seriously wrong here!

We got news yesterday that the strike by city employees is changing plans for Canada Day festivities across the Greater Toronto Area.

Ashbridge's Bay and Mel Lastman Square are normally packed on Canada Day for an elaborate fireworks show and other events.

But the strike by municipal workers has cancelled the usual events on all city-run property.

"City-run celebrations are cancelled," city manager Joe Pennachetti said earlier this week. "But Torontonians will have other opportunities to celebrate Canada's birthday at [numerous] other locations around the city."

O.K.

You're on strike, can't organize or run the thing properly, and can't clean up afterwards!

Understandable.

BUT!

You were on strike during the "Gay Pride" parade as well and that went ahead as usual.

WHAT'S GOING ON?

We can't celebrate our national holiday, but the gays get their stuff with no problem.

Another example, my fiends, of political correctness gone mad.
