At least you would think so when the first Xmas commercials hit the T.V. airwaves two weeks ago.
Now Shoppers Drug Mart is playing Christmas music ……………… that is,  until customers complained!

It seem every year, the minute the last Halloween trick-or-treaters are tucked into bed, retailers turn their sights on the next big calendar event: Christmas.
Shoppers Drug Mart has had a slight change of heart about that yearly tradition after announcing Friday on its Facebook page that it was suspending Christmas music until further notice following complaints from customers.
Shoppers announced in a message on its Facebook page that it was suspending Christmas music until further notice following complaints from customers:

Spokeswoman Tammy Smitham says some customers had complained that it was too soon to be playing Christmas music in the stores.
She says Shoppers began playing Christmas music on Thursday, but some unhappy customers contacted them through Facebook and customer service.
Smitham says the Christmas music will be back, likely later in the month.
As retailers eagerly put up their Christmas decorations and cue up their stock of Christmas music, it doesn’t appear to matter to them that the big day is still a solid eight weeks away.
However, it is likely that a good number of their customers not not share their enthusiasm for celebrating two months of Christmas.
While one British online survey found that 95% of consumers prefer shopping with in-store music, nearly 50% said November is too soon to start playing Christmas music in shops.

Listen folks, when I was a kid, we got the Eaton’s and Simpson’s Christmas catalogue in the fall, and the spring edition after Christmas.
Not almost a year ahead like it is now!
Time goes by fast enough as it is boys and girls, without hurrying it along any faster!
