Dear Readers:
Edward Snowden has accomplished TWO things with his disclosures!
First, of course, was the extent to which the U.S. government is spying on anybody and everybody, but it also convinced Russia and China that there has to be more state control over the Internet!

Nice work, Edward J. Snowden. You must be proud.Since fleeing the US for Russia via Hong Kong on the grounds that you didn’t want to live in an oppressive surveillance state, you’ve met the law of unintended consequences.

Your hosts say your allegations of spying by the NSA neatly back their renewed calls for state control of the Internet.
A member of Russia’s Parliament has cited you personally in a push to compel multinational Internet companies to comply more closely with Russia’s prohibitive rules on personal data storage.
“We need to quickly put these huge transnational companies like Google, Microsoft and Facebook under national controls,” is how Ruslan Gattarov, a member of the upper chamber of the Russian Parliament, or Federation Council, puts it, in an interview with The New York Times. “This is the lesson Snowden taught us.”
That’s not all. Russia intends to join freedom-loving China and return to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) next year for another vote on giving individual sovereign states control of the Internet.
The Communist giants tried last November but failed to get the numbers to have this obscure UN body cede “sufficient” Internet governance power to national governments.
Thankfully stronger – and better – forces prevailed.
Like the European Parliament, the U.S. and all 27 EU member states (backed by Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico) who joined to defeat the plan.
Now Russia wants to have that vote retaken when the ITU meets in Busan, South Korea during the fall of 2014 and they will use Mr. Snowden as their star exhibit.
So at 14:58 into his allotted 15 minutes of fame, the 30-year-old runaway has managed to unite Russia and China against the rest of the free world while still never addressing the appalling human rights record of his hosts.
MEANWHILE! Internet service providers in Britain will be asked to automatically block access to pornography sites unless customers opt in, Prime Minister David Cameron announced Monday.
Cameron announced the move as part of measures to stop extreme sexual images he said were “corroding childhood.”
In a speech to a children’s charity, Cameron said that “family-friendly” filters would become the default setting for new customers by the end of the year, and only account-holders would be able to change them.
He also announced a proposal to make it a crime to possess violent pornography containing simulated rape scenes, and said Google and other search engines would be asked to block searches based on certain phrases.
Anti-pornography activists welcomed the announcement, but critics said the measures would be hard to implement.
Kate is in labour, and about to give birth to an alien! (Well ya can’t say this kid is going to grow up to be a normal human being, can ya?)
Meanwhile the turf accountants (bookies) are having a field day!
Kingston Ontario is not a good town to be gay in!
Two hurtful, hateful letters delivered to a lesbian couple in Kingston, Ont., have underlined two points. One, there are still people in this world who are rotten. And two, there are people in this world who are not.
The story of the letters – threatening to hurt and terrorize the couple – has been making its way around town since they were posted outside the couple’s home last week.
The letters were later posted online, the first of which was addressed to “Lesbian bitches.”
It reads in part:
We are a small but dedicated group of Kingston residents devoted to removing the scourge of homosexuality in our city. We know you and have been following you for the past several weeks and we wish for you to leave this city, before it is too late, for you.
It gets worse, and more graphic. It cites the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision to legalize gay marriage as a trigger for their anger and warns that if the couple goes to the police, “our efforts to relocate you will escalate.”
A follow-up letter warns the couple that the group has provided BB guns for its younger members “so that they can hunt you down.”
Needless to say, the couple did not go quietly into the night. They did alert police, who launched an investigation. And the attention the letters have received sparked an outcry at city hall.
Mayor Mark Gerretsen told the Kingston Whig-Standard the letters were cowardly and immature.
“To think their actions are appropriate by writing those words just shows they are not willing to evolve with the changing time which, I feel, is extremely unfortunate and disrespectful,” he told the newspaper.
“I don’t think anybody should be swayed by it and I hope people should continue to push forward and ensure equality is established for all members of the community.”
The Whig reports that same-sex couples in the city have been targeted in the past. Last year, a male couple had their home and car repeatedly vandalized. Three years ago it was a female couple that was targeted. One person was charged for mischief in the case. And earlier this year, anti-gay posters were placed in a downtown park ahead of the city’s pride flag-raising event.
It is a rare handful of occurrences, sure. But they reminders that rotten, evil people still exist. People who still believe they are justified, in the name of society and in the name of God, to threaten and intimidate and terrorize people who are different
There was a European woman in Dubai who got raped…………. and reported it!
The first thing the cops did was charge her with having sex outside of marriage.
(We’re not making this shit up folks!)
Due to international pressure the government has issued her a pardon……………, as long as she doesn’t do it again! (Get raped!)
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida NFL linebacker Antonio Morrison has been arrested again.
Morrison was arrested early Sunday on two misdemeanors charges: barking at a police dog and resisting arrest.
(Actually it wasn’t just the dog he insulted…………… there was a cop walking the dog and he kept saying  “Bark – oink!” “Bark – oink!” “Bark – oink!”)
A news headline says that climate change could wipe out the Iberian goat. That means that we will never again be treated to scenes such as this!
