As usual, the world has got me dazed and confused!

Fashion chain H&M has removed a faux headdress from its Canadians stores after receiving complaints that the accessories were making a mockery of aboriginal culture.
Kim Wheeler first spotted the brightly coloured feathered hair bands last week at a store in Vancouver and emailed the Sweden-based company to tell them she found the headwear offensive.
Wheeler, who is an Ojibwa-Mohawk from Winnipeg, told CTV News Channel Friday that they were not appropriate, as headdresses are traditional garb worn by Indian chiefs.

imagesCAR1TOIALISTEN FOLKS: as a person with German/ Austrian heritage, I resent people outfitting themselves in “Lederhosen” around Oktoberfest time, and as someone who has Dutch blood in me as well, I don’t want to hear any more jokes about “wooden shoes!”
I also know for a fact that the East Indians are real pissed at the disrespect they are shown for that stupid dot in the middle of their forehead.

The French seem to be sensitive about anything that anyone says to them, and  the Americans are really sensitive about the outfits they wear to WalMart.

imagesCAW7TZ8M(And I can’t say as I blame them!)
Matter of fact, about the only people who aren’t ‘bitchin’ about something or other are the cowboys!
As far as they’re concerned, the more people who wear their silly hats………………….., the better!

Oprah can bitch and complain all she wants, but your non-judgmental reporter thought this was hilarious!

NYET121-731_2013_190619_highBillionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey says she ran into Swiss racism when a clerk at Trois Pommes, a pricey Zurich boutique, refused to show her a $38,000 handbag, telling one of the world’s richest women that she wouldn’t be able to afford it. Winfrey earned $77 million in the year ending in June, according to Forbes magazine.

“She said: ‘No, no, no, you don’t want to see that one. You want to see this one. Because that one will cost too much; you will not be able to afford that,’” Winfrey, appearing on the U.S. television program “Entertainment Tonight,” quoted the clerk as saying. “And I said, ‘Well, I did really want to see that one.’ And she refused to get it.”
I just wonder how much commission the clerk would have made on the $38K purse ………………., and why would anyone buy a purse that costs as much as a luxury car, or the down payment on a house

While too soon to say whether a crackdown on homosexuals in Russia will result in a spike in refugee claims from that country, at least one Vancouver lawyer who deals exclusively with gay and lesbian asylum claimants is beginning to notice a difference.
Rob Hughes handles a few dozen lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) cases a year and the last time he had a Russian client was before the fall of the Soviet Union — until now.
“To get several cases from Russia in such a short period of time, I think it indicates just how afraid people are,” he told Postmedia News, adding Russians do need a visa to come to Canada which could be a barrier for some.

GENEVA (AP) — Oprah Winfrey says she had a racist encounter while shopping in Switzerland — and the national tourist office and the shop owner have apologized.
The billionaire media mogul told the U.S. program “Entertainment Tonight” that a shop assistant in Zurich refused to show her a black handbag priced at $38,000 because “you will not be able to afford that.”
Forbes magazine estimates that Winfrey earned $77 million in the year ending in June.
Winfrey was in town to attend last month’s wedding of her longtime pal Tina Turner, who lives in a chateau along Lake Zurich.
229a72fa91e2eb1a390f6a7067002f75“We are very sorry for what happened to her, of course, because we think all of our guests and clients should be treated respectfully, in a professional way,” Daniela Baer, a spokeswoman for the Swiss tourism office, told The Associated Press on Friday.

The tourism office also posted an apology on Twitter, saying “this person acted terribly wrong.”
Shop owner Trudie Goetz told the BBC that an assistant had shown Winfrey several other items before the “misunderstanding” over the bag, which was kept behind a screen. The Blick newspaper quoted Goetz as saying the bag was priced at 35,000 Swiss francs ($38,000).
She also told Blick that she was “truly sorry” because her staff are well-trained to treat customers well.
“I have to admit that the employee is Italian. Of course, she speaks English, but not as well as her mother tongue,” Goetz was quoted as saying. “It was a real misunderstanding.”
Winfrey was involved in another retail rebuff in Paris in 2005, when she was turned away from a Hermes boutique 15 minutes after closing time. The store said it was closed for a private public relations event.
A Hermes executive appeared on her talk show to apologize for the “rigid and rude” behavior of the employee. Winfrey complimented Hermes on its handling of the incident — including sensitivity training for employees — and urged viewers to continue to buy the company’s products.

All I can say is thank God they got that straightened out ………………!
On a personal level, I haven’t had that kind of trouble since I tried to get into the movies with Canadian Tire money last weekend!

Tim Lake was victimized by an unknown assailant. But the Phoenix resident said he’s not about to give up on justice without a fight .
Lake had placed an order on Amazon and was patiently waiting for his package to be delivered. It arrived, but someone showed up on Lake’s doorstep and stole the goods.
But the theft was caught on camera, showing a middle aged, blonde haired woman walking up to Lake’s doorstep, grabbing the package, and then fleeing.
“She runs off into the distance, scurrying almost like she’s got a flat tire in there,” Lake told local affiliate CBS5.
Lake responded to the theft by combining his sense of humor and some due diligence.
First, he created a “wanted” sign, which he posted around his neighborhood. The poster reads, in part:
“Beware! Have you seen this robber?”
The poster goes on to described the thief as, “Either a woman, or Dog the Bounty Hunter has really let himself go.”
Lake reached out to local news media to get his story out to the public. When asked to describe the woman in the video, Lake told CBS5, “Eyes vacant, uncaring, lacking a soul.”
In a hilarious interview, Lake pretended to become emotionally distraught over the missing package and even paraphrased some lines from the Liam Neeson revenge film, “Taken,” when asked what he’d say to the woman if he met her on the street.
Oh, and for the record: Lake said the items stolen were a package of coffee pods and an ice tray.
