Ladies and gentlemen, we found another “Asshole of the Day,” and we didn’t even have to look hard……………., he almost fell into our lap!
This dubious distinction goes to a local boy who is on London City Council and goes by the name of Steve Orser.
Mr. Orser, or Stevie, as I like to call him, has put his foot in his
mouth, and his head up his ass, quite a few times in the past, but this
one takes the cake.
Stevie boy wants to re-open the issue of fluoridation in the water and put it up for public vote!
WAIT A MINUTE FOLKS!
I am now almost a senior citizen, and remember how fluoridation in the water was a big, big issue when I was just a kid.
Since then the general consensus among the scientific community, dentists, dental hygienists, dental receptionists, mothers, fathers, and assorted race car drivers is that fluoride in the water is both safe and effective in reducing tooth decay!
Fluoridation is a dead duck kids, or a lame pigeon, that we solved fifty years ago…………., so why does Mr. Orser want to have another go at it now!
(Next thing ya know he will be claiming that wind turbines are bad for ya!)

Well, well, well! Like mother, like daughter ………….., and ya learn something every day!
Since your humble reporter has absolutely NO interest in the Kardashians, it was with a certain amount of surprise that I learned Mrs. Bruce Jenner, also known as Kris Jenner, was in actual fact Kris KARDASHIAN until about 25 years ago!
(Although I don’t know diddly squat about the Kardashians, I certainly remember Bruce Jenner.)
That’s right folks, Kris Jenner is the mother of Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, and it took her almost twenty years to teach them how to be famous too!
(It’s a little known fact, brought to my attention by the Perspective Research Department, and the Naked News staff, that Kris took her “how to be famous” lessons from Zaa Zaa Gabor ……….., but that’s a whole different story!)

We told you yesterday about Chief Justice Antonin Scalia of the U.S. Supreme Court basing a lot of his decisions on biblical lore instead of real world facts ………….., well, here’s Michele Bachmann telling Christian radio show Understanding The Times that the events in the Book of Revelation are happening in real life because Barack Obama armed Al Qaeda…….,! (Except, he didn’t!)
But that’s entirely irrelevant because, again, here’s an elected
government official whose decisions impact the lives of millions saying
her professional opinion is that we’re about to literally witness four
supernatural horsemen descend from seven seals in the heavens before a
beast borne of the earth and with horns of a lamb forces humanity to
bear its mark, a.k.a. “Obamacare.”
(Michele is a really good looking woman……….., too bad she’s all fucked up on religion. Kind of makes me want to weep! -Ed.)

Canadian business tycoon Paul Desmarais Sr. has died at the age of 86, Power Corp. of Canada (TSX:POW) says.
Desmarais led the company as its chairman and chief executive from 1968 to 1996 before passing the reins to his sons.
Born in Sudbury, Ont., in 1927 , Desmarais was one of Canada’s most powerful figures, straddling the worlds of business and politics.
(Let’s put it this way folks, with a personal net worth of five billion dollars, they didn’t call his company POWER Corp. for nothing! -Ed.)

The introduction of technology when coupled with the tendency
for teens to disregard safety in certain ways has led to a growing
problem for teens who walk along streets.
That danger involves being injured or worse by vehicles because those young pedestrians were distracted by technology and not paying attention to passing motorists.
The level of danger was recently defined in a study that was performed by a group known as Safe Kids Worldwide, and a link to the full study can be found here.
The study involved researchers looking at more than 34,000 teenaged students who were attending 68 different schools in 17 different states. Some of the findings uncovered by the study included:

So it turns out we may have been spying on Brazil, one of our biggest trading partners.
Yesterday on the CBC’s As It Happens,
journalist Glenn Greenwald — who first reported on these violations by
Canada’s Communications Security Establishment (CSEC) — promised
Canadians that further NSA documents, leaked to him by Edward Snowden
but as yet unreported, have much more to offer on the subject of
Canadian intelligence transgressions.
Well, let me tell ya folks, the Perspective Research department found
out that, YES, indeed, Canada (CSIS) has been spying on the Brazilians,
but they had to give it up when they discovered that Brazilians only
speak Portuguese, not English or French!

The Medical Officer of Health for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority issued a precautionary Boil Water Advisory this evening for a localized area of southeast Winnipeg – south of Bishop Grandin Blvd. to the Perimeter, and east of the Red River to the Seine River.
Until further notice, all water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before it is used.
For those of you who do not like drinking hot water, an alternate and safe supply of water should be used. (e.g, bottled water)

Harnessing fusion – the process that powers the Sun – could provide an unlimited and cheap source of energy. But to be viable, fusion power plants would have to produce more energy than they consume, which has proven elusive!
Well! Listen to THIS, boys and girls.
A breakthrough by scientists at the National Ignition Facility (NIF) has boosted hopes. We understand that during an experiment in late September, the amount of energy released through the fusion reaction exceeded the amount of energy being absorbed by the fuel – the first time this had been achieved at any fusion facility in the world.
NIF, based at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, is one of several projects around the world aimed at harnessing fusion.
They include the multi-billion-euro ITER facility, currently under construction in Cadarache, France.
(This could be a big one folks............., fusion is markedly different from current nuclear power, which operates through splitting atoms. Fusion squashes them together instead of splitting them, and doesn’t leave any nasty residue like current power plants!)

- 39 percent of teens crossing streets while distracted were listening to headphones.
- 20 percent of teens crossing streets while distracted were talking on cell phones.
- 2 percent of teens crossing streets while distracted were using some other electronic device.
- 49 percent of those surveyed admitted to using a cell phone while walking to school.
- 40 percent stated that they listen to music while walking.
- Only 22 percent of those surveyed believe that teens face the highest risk of being injured as pedestrians despite the fact that statistics show that they are the most likely age group to be harmed in this manner.
It’s not such a bad thing…………………….., it helps thin the herd!
