Your long suffering reporter does not read the Toronto Star with any regularity since it is way too far to the left and politically correct for my tastes!
However, I did read a copy of it today, and I was once again reminded about why I hate that rag so much!
1. Right on the front page they had a huge article attempting to elicit sympathy for Omar Khadr since he has been so hard done by. After all, the only thing Omar and the rest of his family did was become terrorists and kill people!
2. Then there was the high school girl from London, Ontario who didn't like her high school administration telling her not to dress like a low-life, so the Star got on her side and suggested that this whole thing was a case of objectifying women and ended up turning the bloody thing into a feminist issue!
3. And last, but not least, I'm sure you've heard of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the Muslim woman who has been making the rounds of talk shows and TV interview programs denouncing some of the tenants of Islam and how the religion needs a Reformation much like Christianity had five hundred years ago!
Well, this is the headline the Toronto Star gave to this woman:
CRITIC CONTRIBUTES TO ISLAMOPHOBIA!
Yup, just a reminder of why I don't read the Toronto Star!
(Oh, I do have to admit that they didn't have any articles denouncing Israel toady, so let's be thankful for small miracles!)
