The North Pole had been situated in the remote northern part of Canada over near Greenland, but due to the melting ice (trillions and trillions of tons) it is now slowly moving more towards Europe.
Scientists estimate that one day in the not too far future the North Pole could be situated over London, England, and the sun would rise in the south and set in the north!
Now none of this is going to happen by next Tuesday folks, but we might want to hold off annexing the Turks and Caicos Islands as a winter retreat since that might one day be replaced by Inuvik!

Humans today often carry around a small chunk of DNA from Neanderthals, suggesting we interbred with our closest known extinct relatives at some point in our history.
So why isn't there more Neanderthal DNA in modern humans?
Well kids, according to the Perspective Research Department, Neanderthals were not particularly good looking and had a hard time getting a date with human women. (Remember, back in the cave-man days it was the Neanderthals who were referred to as "low life!")------------------------------

A python captured in Malaysia on Thursday is believed to be the largest snake ever captured.
The monstrous snake was discovered under a tree by workers at a construction site in Paya Terubong, on the island of Penang. It took members of the civil defence department half an hour to capture the reptile. It is currently being held at civil defence headquarters while awaiting a transfer to the state wildlife department.
(Now that's one snake ya couldn't flush down the toilet!)

Well folks, he gave a warm acceptance speech on stage Friday, but rocker Steve Miller's rant behind the scenes of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was anything but.
The 72-year-old musician, who performed popular hits during the ceremony including Fly Like an Eagle and The Joker, ripped into the rock hall for what he described as an "unpleasant" system.

Jake Lloyd, the actor who played a young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, has reportedly been transferred from jail to a psychiatric center to deal with his schizophrenia, according to TMZ.
Lloyd, 27, spent nearly 10 months in jail after having been arrested last June after leading police on a high-speed car chase that exceeded speeds of 100 mph through South Carolina.Authorities believe “he needed help more than punishment.“
The former child star, who retired from acting in 2005, was charged with reckless driving, failure to stop and driving without a driver’s license after officers finally caught up with him.
