Six of one, a half dozen of the other!

Dear Readers:

WHEN I WAS A YOUNG MAN BACK THERE IN SEMINARY SCHOOL, (no wait, that's a line from the Door's song "The Soft Parade") and living in Vancouver all those many years ago, I saw the rise of what is now called the environmental movement with the establishment of Green Peace, and the attributes we now refer to as 'tree hugging' by the over the hill and aged baby boomers! (This was the birth of the Eco movement, environmentalism, animal welfare groups, socialists and all the other stuff that screwed up the kids of that day ......., and I was one of them.)

A couple of things happened during this time that brought me back to some sense of normality, and the first one was when a hippie-type girl I knew started complaining about car accidents causing so much damage, (An old Chinese guy smashed into the front of my car ..., which also proved that they really don't know how to drive!) and why couldn't all cars be made out of 100% rubber!

The other thing was all the vegetarians who lived there, because most looked terribly malnourished and sickly looking, so I never really got into that!

In spite of this the West Coast continues to be a hotbed of the Left, and being insulated from the rest of us by the mountains they have developed some pretty strange ideas and customs. The latest seems to be a complete rejection of fossil fuels and any form of energy production unless it involves sunlight, wind, decomposing vegetables, and/or water power!

With that in mind you might remember that about a year and a half ago a Royal Dutch Shell led group applied to build a liquefied natural gas terminal on Canada’s Pacific Coast to ship the fuel to Asia, estimating it will spend as much as $40 billion. 

Well, didn't a bunch of West Coast academics, environmentalists and other Eco-friendly  groups come out today and say NO to this project! (Not only that, they also want us to shut down the Alberta Oil Sands and NEVER, EVER build another pipeline in this country!)

Like I said yesterday folks, a forced conversion to Amish might be the only thing that saves us!

 

But don't forget kids,  this only brings back the problem of what to do with all that horse-shit!
