Canada's FREXIT!

Dear Readers:

Since we've had a few days to get used to the idea of the U.K.'s BREXIT, I think we should consider some of the local ramifications for Canada! (By this I'm specifically referring to the possibility of Quebec getting stupid ideas about Separation again.)

First of all, the BREXIT vote was only supposed to be a protest vote, but it turned out to be one like Ontario had for the N.D.P. in the early 90's, where they mistakenly voted that government into office.

Now that the folly of their ways has become apparent to most Brits I would like to remind the people of Quebec (Who thru 'Divine Grace' did not vote to separate yet.)  of some of the effects that a divorce has had ...., and will have, on that Province!

Montreal was the undisputed cultural and financial centre of Canada and it reached its zenith with "The 1967 International and Universal Exposition or Expo 67." 

After that the French got too rank, and things started to go downhill! Not even the Olympics of 1976 would stop the subsequent slide.

To give you a quick example of what these Nationalist sentiments can do to a Province, just get a load of this article:

MONTREAL -- The number of Quebecers who left for other provinces between 1971 and 2015 was almost 600,000 higher than the number of Canadians who came to Quebec during that period, says the Fraser Institute.
That constitutes the highest out-migration total in the country, according to research from the right-of-centre think-tank.
Moreover, Quebec is the only province in Canada to have suffered a net loss in inter-provincial migration every year during that time, the organization said in a report released Tuesday.

Add to this statistic the effects that BREXIT is now having on the Brits, and it should become very obvious to Quebecers that 'going it alone' is a rather stupid idea that can only lead to misery and heartache. The only consolation is that if they end up miserable ........ they would be miserable in French!

A man wanted in an attack in which both of a Winnipeg hotel employee's ears were bitten off is in custody.

Police say a 40-year-old woman was working early on June 19 when she was confronted by two people after refusing them service.
Const. Rob Carver says the woman has been released from hospital and is recovering.
