Throw 'em all in jail?

Dear Readers:

Your hapless and innocent reporter just read a startling statistic about the justice system in the United States.

If what I read can be believed, since it is from the Internet, about 3% of black males in the U.S. are in jail.

Now I'm not going to get into the controversy over whether it's the fault of the black's themselves or the judicial system which unfairly targets black youth, but whatever the case, there is something drastically wrong here.

Percentage wise it would be the same as if you took the 3% of the population that was gay ....., and threw them in jail.

That would be a lot of people!

But then again, this might not be a fair comparison, because I'm sure there are some knee-jerk rednecks and right wing republicans who might think that this would be a good idea too!

Scientists have just announced that they might have found a fifth force of nature in addition to gravity, the strong and weak nuclear force, and electromagnetic force.

Although they don't have a name for it yet I can tell them that it is a woman scorned. (Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!)

I just read about a case where a Canadian man was flying into Halifax after a trip abroad, and when customs wanted to look at his cell phone he refused to give them the password, and was subsequently fined $500 bucks in court. 

Now normally I would say this was a basic infringement of his rights folks ...., until I read further that he had two cell phones on him, $5000- bucks in cash and his luggage tested positive for cocaine residue.

That puts a whole different slant on the story!

News out of the States today that fifteen prisoners at Guantanamo Bay have been transferred to the United Arab Emirates — the largest single release of the Obama administration.

That puts the population of the military prison in Cuba one person, and that is Boris Badanuf, who has been imprisoned there since his arrest by Rocket J. Squirrel and Bullwinkle Moose back in 1968!
