Will the real truthiness please stand up!

Dear Readers:

O.K. we all know that Indians discovered British Columbia about 15 - 20,000 years ago, (even though it wasn't called B.C. at that time) but new evidence supports the fact that Europeans went there two hundred years before we thought they did!
Image Source: BTOfficial records state the first Europeans to discover British Columbia were Spanish sailors in 1774, followed by British Captain James Cook in 1778.  BUT, new found coins support a theory that Sir Francis Drake discovered Canada two centuries earlier, and it’s the third 16th century coin to be discovered on British Columbia’s coastline.

Well Hillary Clinton and Donald Drumpf had a debate last night except they had it at different times instead of together.

A couple of interesting notes on Donald that don't sit too well with a lot of people.

First, he promised to greatly expand the size and capability of the armed forces even though they are bigger and more powerful than the next nine countries COMBINED!

Trump did not get into specifics about what he learned in the briefings, one Aug. 17 and the second Sept. 2. but just the same it was more like closing the barn door after the horse left.

Speaking about "The Donald" I ran across an interesting headline this morning:
Donald Trump’s Shortest Attribute Isn’t His Fingers! (Now I just have to figure out if they were talking about his attention span ......, or something else!)

After a record-setting career spanning more than half a century, CBC meteorologist Peter Coade is retiring. His last day on CBC airwaves will be Sept. 30.
After more than half a century as a meteorologist, Peter Coade is set to retire at the end of the month. In 2013, he was awarded the Guinness World Record for the longest career as a weather broadcaster at 50 years, 8 months and 21 days.
Coade joined the federal government weather service on Oct. 1, 1962, where he was trained as meteorologist. Over the years he worked in Halifax, Truro, N.S., Happy Valley-Goose Bay, N.L., and Toronto.
Peter CoadeIn the early days, Coade worked extensively in radio. In Happy Valley-Goose Bay in the late 1960s, he presented the weather each evening on CBC Television to an an audience mostly made up of United States Air Force personnel and their families stationed in Labrador during the Cold War.
Mr. Coade said he has suffered from some health problems lately, and attributes his retirement on being "under the weather!"

(Or as they say in the weather business: "When it rains, it pours!")

Asked what he would do about the city of Aleppo, if elected, Libertarian Gary Johnson answered: "What is Aleppo?"

O.K. now we all know that Gary Johnson knows what the city of Aleppo is, but
Mr Johnson later admitted he had "blanked" out and thought it was an acronym for something. (An acronym is a word or name formed as an abbreviation from the initial components in a phrase or a word, usually individual letters as in NATO or laser.)

Gary said he would "get smarter" following the gaffe, but the press treated him like some sort of a retard!.

Oops, sorry, we're not allowed to say 'retard' anymore, eh!

(With all the shit that Drumpf and Clinton get away with folks, the press really should cut Mr. Johnson a bit of slack!)

Seems the big cable companies are in deep doo-doo with the CRTC over their cable billing practices!

They had to start offering $25- basic cable in the spring, and "pick and pay" channels in late fall ........, but they don't mention the basic cable fees in their advertising and try to sign as many people as possible to multi year "bundles" so they can't go for the cheaper "pick and pay" rates!
