Dear Friends: Lots of stink in the media about Global Warming and Climate Change and I can't say that I blame them.
Scientists say that if we don't curb greenhouse gas emissions so that global temperatures don't rise above 1.5 to 2 degrees Celsius we will have large parts of the world around the equator left uninhabitable, and the oceans will rise to the point where every coastal city will be under water.
BUT THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM KIDS! (We could still live with that!)
What they don't talk about is the chance that Global Warming will go nuts and we will be faced with run-away temperatures that will leave the surface of our planet similar to what happened on Venus!
Venus was very similar to Terra (Earth) until their greenhouse gases went over the tipping point and the planet's atmosphere is now basically battery acid heated to around 800 degrees. (Mars, which was also like early Earth went the other way and is now a frozen desert!)
Yes, it's a fine line we walk kids, and the sooner everyone realizes that and starts to do something about it the better off we will all be!
