The reason for this is the conflict now going on between Russian and Georgian forces over a breakaway province that has been causing trouble for quite some time now!
Georgia's president grudgingly signed a truce with Russia on Friday, even as he denounced the Russians as invading barbarians and accused the West of all but encouraging them to overrun his country. Now, here's what has me thinking I'm in the twilight zone kids!
A stone-faced Condoleezza Rice, standing alongside, said Russian troops must withdraw immediately.
President George W. Bush talked tough, too, accusing the Russians of "bullying and intimidation," but neither he nor Rice said what the U.S. might do if Moscow ignores them.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's press office had no information Friday night on whether he had signed the ceasefire agreement.
Even as Rice stood with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili in a show of solidarity, the Georgian leader asked: "Who invited the trouble here? Who invited this arrogance here? Who invited these innocent deaths here?"
Shaky and near tears following a difficult, nearly five-hour meeting with Rice, Saakashvili answered his own question: "Not only those people who perpetrate them are responsible, but also those people who failed to stop it."
The press has turned things around 180 degrees from what it actually is, and everyone is swallowing it hook line and sinker.
You see, the fighting started over a week ago when Georgian forces tried to retake the Russian-leaning separatist province of South Ossetia by force.
That's right, Georgia started it, and this ended up drawing a stiff military response by Moscow that drove the Georgians into retreat and shattered Saakashvili's army.
Georgia is at fault because they started it, and even timed it so that the Olympics would overshadow the news, but since Russia is the bad guy to the Western press, they are made to look like the aggressors!
The spin doctors are having a field day bunky!
