We were talking about P.E.T.A. the other day and since then Amanda Beard, who is a two time Olympic Gold Medalist, decided to hold a news conference to display this picture of herself.

To pull a stunt for a cause is one thing, but to shamelessly promote herself in this manner makes Amanda Beards our "Perspectives Loser of the week."

Now I have to tell you that if Ms Beard is not happy with this decision then she is more than welcome to come to the Perspective offices to sit down and discuss this decision with me!

This next guy is so far out that we created a new category just for him!

A man accused of beheading and cannibalizing another passenger on a Greyhound bus in Manitoba pleaded Tuesday in court for someone to "please kill me," and was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Prosecutor Joyce Dalmyn, who argued for the evaluation, revealed new details about the attack Wednesday night.

She said Vince Weiguang Li had a plastic bag containing his victim's ear, nose and part of a mouth in his pocket when officers arrested him. The only response officers received from him was: "'I have to stay on the bus forever,'" Dalmyn said.

For an effort way above and beyond the call of normal insanity Vince gets our brand new "Perspectives Crazy Asshole of the Week!"

That's right, you, me and even that crazy neighbor down the road all get a break from rising gas prices.

Oil prices dove to US$115 a barrel on Friday, driven lower by a huge jump in the U.S. dollar, signs of moderating fuel demand around the world and the growing belief in the markets that commodities may have peaked.

Maybe by shortly after Labor Day prices will have returned to some acceptable level.
