Just when I get finished dis-ing England and the States for all the ridiculous stuff that goes on there, I get reminded about a piece of idiocy that is homegrown right here in Canada.
Now that fall is here, swine flu is coming back and the government is making preparations in case we have a major outbreak!
One of the area's of concern are the many remote Indian reservations in the far north, where influenza could spread like wildfire through a small town or village because of the close proximity of people in the winter!
As a precaution they sent medical kits up north with medicines, medical supplies, and even a few body bags, since a lot of these communities are virtually cut off from civilization during the winter!
Now, the opposition Liberals and New Democrats, who always have a nose for digging up crap, suggested that sending the body bags to remote reservations was an insult to the Indians, and suggested that this was done because ,....... because.....gee, I don't really know what it suggests, but according to Liberal Leader Michael Ignatief it's really bad! (Nobody ever did say why it was bad, just that it was!)
Now here comes the really wacky part kids!
The Liberals and NDP and Indians kept screaming "insult" so long that the Conservatives actually apologized!
APOLOGIZED!
Nobody knows what they were supposed to apologize for......... but they did it to keep everybody happy!
.......OH, by the way, some of the reservations reported their first deaths from swine flu over the weekend
Hope they hadn't already sent the body bags back!
