Revisionist history brought into the light!

This past week saw the 70th anniversary of the start of W.W.11, and there were a couple of articles published over the weekend by Eric Margolis and Michael Coren that addressed the problem of revisionist history and the lies, deceit and double dealing that took place during the second world war, and culminated with the pact of Yalta!

As a person of German descent, I have always been a keen student of history, and especially of revisionist history brought about by the great propaganda machines of the protagonists of world war two!

For the sake of brevity I am going to make this as succinct as possible, and will also quote from the two articles by Messieurs Margolis and Coren to make my point.

First of all, World War Two was not instigated by Adolf Hitler....... the war was a direct result of the punishing reparations and conditions put upon Germany by the Allies after world war one.

(And world war one was a parting gift from the Hapsburg dynasty, who ruled a good part of, if not most of Europe, for almost a thousand years!)

If somebody else besides Hitler had been in power in Germany chances are the results would have been the same because of the onerous limits and liabilities the Allies used to keep Germany shackled.

Either that, or the Soviet Union would have started it, because they had their own agenda to expand westward and establish a buffer zone between themselves and Europe!

But one way or the other, there would have been a W.W.11.

According to Eric Margolis;

The 70th anniversary of the Second World War has reopened old wounds and ignited an ugly battle of words between Russia and its unloving neighbours, Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic states.

They accuse Moscow of having stabbed them in the back in 1939.

The European parliamentary assembly, OSCE, recently held the U.S.S.R. and Germany "equally responsible" for the war.

About time.

"A flat-out lie," angrily retorted Russia's president, Dmitry Medvedev.

(The war cost the Soviet Union 25 million dead. Russians rightly believe they, not the U.S. and British Empire, defeated Hitler's Germany.)

Underlining Moscow's worrying rehabilitation of the Soviet dictator, Medvedev claimed Josef Stalin saved Europe from Hitler and rejects all attempts to equate him with the Fuhrer.
Eric's view: "Stalin was an even worse criminal and mass murderer than Adolf Hitler, but also a much more clever strategist, war leader and diplomat. Hitler stumbled into a war that Germany could not possibly win."

This whole mess started with the "Munich Pact" in 1938 that allowed Germany to re-annex the German speaking provinces of "Sudetenland" in Czechoslovakia that they had lost after the first world war.

At this time Stalin knew that Hitler also had his sights on the portion of Germany that had been given to Poland (including the city of Dansik / Gdansk) after W.W.1, so Stalin offered to divide Poland between them if Hitler invaded.

(Hitler didn't think this would draw in the Allies because of a certain kinship with England.......... and Stalin did!)

Then after everything was in the crapper anyway, Hitler decided he might as well take back the Ruhr Valley coal fields that had been given to France, and while he was at it.................. why not spend the spring in PARIS!

In the meantime President Roosevelt was jerking Churchill around during the early forties by privately supporting him and pledging future American involvement while publicly proclaiming a desire to keep America out of the war.

While the political elite were keenly aware of the bitter dispute between Roosevelt and Churchill, a different history has been made available to the average American: a mass of lies and half-truths about a so-called ``special relationship'' between Britain and the United States, based on common ideals, supposedly supported by both Churchill and Roosevelt, and intended to last into the next millennium.

(This rewriting of history began almost immediately with FDR's untimely death in April 1945, and has continued to this day.)

Back to the war.......It wasn't until the raid on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese that the U.S. formally entered the war.... and even this was based on the lie that the Japanese had attacked without warning, when they had in fact given prior notice. (Short.....but prior!)

This prior notice a few hours before was not only ignored by the Americans, but they allowed themselves to be totally caught off guard by the actual raid because they thought the Japanese planes were a returning U.S. squadron......., so they invented the idea of a "surprise attack!"

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...... or in this case Western Europe, everyone thought that Hitler was crazy for opening a second front with Russia in "42," ........but once again, according to Eric Margolis;

From digging in GRU files, Victor Suvorov (a pseudonym of a defector from the Soviet KGB) asserts that in the spring of 1942, Stalin was poised to launch 170 divisions, 24,000 tanks and thousands of warplanes in a surprise blitzkrieg against Western Europe, supported by mountains of munitions and more armies from Asia and the Far East.

The Red army and air force were deployed in vulnerable offensive formations hard on the new German-Soviet border. (Stalin had ordered all defensive works removed.)

But Hitler struck first.

Learning of the Soviet threat, Hitler secretly massed his armies and attacked on June 22, 1941.

Operation Barbarossa caught the Russians flat-footed: Warplanes on the ground, tanks on rail cars, munitions in the open.

Soviet ground forces were quickly enveloped, cut off and destroyed in vast numbers, otherwise they would have been un-stoppable if they had started to mobilize.

Soviet propaganda later tried to cover up Stalin's plan to attack Europe, claiming his forces were outmoded and unprepared and generals incompetent.

This view still prevails.

Not so, claims Suvorov, to the fury of most historians.

(Said Margolis;)I pored through Suvorov's meticulous military analysis.

His figures show Stalin was just about to attack when Hitler pre-empted him.

By 1945, Stalin's Red army had taken half of Europe. But, contends Suvorov, had Hitler not attacked first, Stalin's 30-million man army, backed by mammoth industrial production, would have overwhelmed all of Europe in 1941.

Suvorov's unstated conclusion: Hitler saved Western Europe from Stalin. This, in turn, inevitably led to the downfall in 1991 of the U.S.S.R. -- and the real end of the Second World War.

He adds: If Poland had given back German-populated Danzig to Germany, war might have been avoided. The British Empire collapsed because of its fatal decision to go to war with Germany in 1939.

Suvorov has done us a service.
Now on top of this kids, according to Michael Coren, so much of the history of the Second World War is built on colossal misinterpretation or downright lies.

One of the central lies being that we had to fight the Germans because of the Holocaust.

While the Jewish people had been dreadfully persecuted and even sometimes killed since 1933, there was no wholesale murder until war was declared. In fact it is highly unlikely that there could have been any wholesale murder without war.

Secrecy, paranoia, war economy and closed borders both in Germany, and abroad, all flourished under the dark cloud of conflict.

Jews, Roma and dissidents would have been treated terribly and doubtless expelled, but it is impossible to see how millions could have been killed like animals unless half the world had been at war.

In an effort to win that war, the western powers allied themselves to the Soviets, (whose most recent friends had been the Germans) and who had wiped out millions of innocent people themselves in the 1920s and '30s.

On top of all that, as bad as the Soviets were, it was the western allies who bombed German cities with no concern for the civilian population while simultaneously condemning German barbarism.

(Look up Hamburg and Dresden..... sure London suffered in the Blitzkrieg, but these two German cities, and many more, were completely leveled and burnt to the ground with the loss of millions of innocent civilians and refugee's from the Soviets!)

More bombs were dropped on Germany in single weeks than the Nazis spewed at Britain during the entire five year conflict.

The war could and would have been won without such indiscriminate violence.

There was nothing indiscriminate, however, about the atomic bombs dropped on Japan.

And the Americans bombed the Japanese, not to end the war....... but to warn the Soviets that they would be next if they tried to expand their empire into the western sphere of influence.

(Nagasaki, by the way, was a centre of anti-war resistance.)

On a side note here, the Nazis were always more of a threat than the Japanese, but there was never any serious plan to use nuclear weapons against Berlin or Munich. The reason is simple.

Race!

As odious as the German regime was, the German people were European and Washington and London knew that the optics would backfire.

Adolf Hitler had to be stopped but he could have been without the loss of tens of millions of people and the dismantling of three continents.

We have been lied to about that terrible war and only a fool would think that we are suddenly being told the truth about the current ones.

It was horrific then and horrific now that good people have to die for agendas rather than causes.
And now kids, what lesson can we draw from all this information?

That history does indeed belong to the winner!
