Tag, (zap) you're it!

Got something here you might find interesting.

First the background!

Robert DziekaƄski was a Polish immigrant to Canada who died on October 14, 2007 after being tasered five times by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) at Vancouver International Airport.

Full details of the incident came to light because it was filmed by a member of the public, Paul Pritchard.

The police initially took possession of the video, refusing to return it to Pritchard.

Pritchard went to court to obtain it, then released it to the press.

As of May 2009, the Braidwood Inquiry is underway, with public questioning and testimony of individuals involved in the incident.

On June 20, 2009, the proceedings were suspended until later in the year after it was discovered that an e-mail contained information indicating that the RCMP officers had already determined that they would use tasers even before encountering Dziekanski.

This contradicts the officers' testimony that they only decided upon the use of tasers at the last minute. (Even though they should not have been used at all!)
Then we have the rest of the story, courtesy of Neal Hall of the Vancouver Sun, and the blog "How I see it!"

The Mountie who repeatedly Tasered Robert Dziekanski at Vancouver’s airport two years ago has filed a libel lawsuit against the CBC.

The legal action by Constable Kwesi Millington claims that CBC’s coverage of the incident since Nov. 4, 2007 has caused him to suffer “serious embarrassment and distress” and has caused him “public ridicule.”

Millington claims CBC’s coverage has “seriously injured” his reputation, causing him to seek punitive and aggravated damages against the CBC

Makes it seem like he’s the victim in all of this, eh?

We here at "How I see it" have no sympathy for the ” serious embarrassment and distress “, or the ” public ridicule” caused by the media coverage of the horrible and tragic death of Robert Dziekanski, Cst. Millington.

None.
Gee, maybe they would have preferred that everyone shut up and pretend it never happened, eh!
