Whites Only!

A few things came to mind this morning and the first was when I was watching a TV newscast from Newfoundland, out in Eastern Canada.

I have to start out by saying that I normally watch Toronto or London news, (God help me if I should ever watch a newscast out of Detroit..... I would be depressed for a week!) and on these stations, especially the Toronto ones, we get a vast assortment of different people giving the news, weather, traffic, entertainment news and so on.

Now by different, I mean different "ethnic" backgrounds, since Toronto and most of Southern Ontario is one of the most culturally diverse areas of North America.

(As a matter of fact, they tell me that within twenty years Toronto's population will be up to between 8-10 million and whites will comprise less than half of the population. So much for our European background!)

You see, when people immigrate to Canada they all go to Southern Ontario, Vancouver or Montreal.

Places like Sarnia, Regina, Calgary and Edmonton, and out on the East Coast (Newfoundland, P.E.I. Nova Scotia and New Brunswick) never see the newcomers.

That's why I found something different in the newscast from Newfie country........ I couldn't put my finger on it at first....... and then all of a sudden it hit me!

Only whites!

That's right folks, when people come to this country they're smart enough to go where the action is.......!

Immigrants just don't go to the smaller places!

Just the same it was strange........, not one Black on TV, not one Oriental, no Jamaicans or Nigerians, no Arabs, No Sikh's or East Indians, no regular Indians, no South Americans and no Aliens! (If you've ever seen "Men in Black!")

Just a whole bunch of sickly white guys and girls. (Summer is kind of short down East!)

No melting pot out there folks.......... they only bake Scottish or Irish white bread!
