Antisemitism takes many forms!

Back in 2005 The University of Toronto started something called the "Israeli Apartheid Week" and as 40 Universities around the world engage in the sixth annual Festival of International Jew Haters I think it's time we started to question their motives.

It's common knowledge that the far left (of which the self proclaimed University Intelligentsia are the trend setters) is not only pro-Palestinian, but bordering on antisemitic.

Amongst the Left the whole question of a Palestinian homeland and peace in the Middle East is seriously tilted towards the Arab point of view, even though you don't see many Jewish suicide bombers!

To quote Lorrie Goldstain of the QMI Agency:

Look, we Jews know we could instantly put a stop to the sixth annual festival of international Jew-hatred known as Israeli Apartheid Week.

All we’d have to do is threaten to behead any university administrators who allowed such an insult to the Jewish state — and thus to Judaism and to our God — to take place on their campuses.

Our rabbis could issue a public death sentence against them, instructing Jews that killing these infidels would be a blessing, assuring them a place in heaven were they to die in the attempt.

We could send our most hate-filled young people onto their campuses — made that way by us — as suicide bombers, to teach them a lesson.

And if innocent people died as a result, tough. They should have thought of that beforehand.

Of course, we all know this won’t happen because Jews don’t behave this way.

No sane member of any religion would.

Further, if a university did ban Israeli Apartheid Week, many Jews, present company included, would urge it to reconsider in the name of free speech, no matter how disgusted we are by this annual, sophomoric “gotcha” game of maliciously linking Israel to apartheid South Africa.

But these realities are also what make the boasts of university administrators who argue that, in providing a home for Israeli Apartheid Week, they’re defending “free speech,” so hollow.

After all, when you claim to be defending free speech from the mob — and there’s no mob demanding you curtail it — you end up looking silly!

Which brings us to the perpetual defence of Israeli Apartheid Week by its apologists, that (yawn) “one can oppose the policies of Israel without being anti-Semitic.”

Yes, yes, yes. Of course one can criticize Israel and its many human rights failings without being a Jew-hater and no doubt many who attend Israeli Apartheid Week, including some Jews, aren’t Jew-haters.

But that’s not the point.

The point is that all Jew-haters hate Israel, and that part of the manifestation of their hatred is to attempt to turn it into a pariah state by constantly holding it up to a higher moral standard than any other nation, while ignoring greater human rights abuses by its hostile neighbours, including tyrannical Islamic republics and corrupt Arab petro-states.

The point is that constant, selective, moral outrage against one example of alleged racism that deliberately ignores all other forms of racism — to say nothing of anti-Israeli terrorism — is indeed racism, or, in this context, Jew-hatred.
Rather tough words, but he makes a good point.

There is enough blame to go around in the Middle East, but if I had to make a black and white choice about who's side I was on......... the Jews would start to look pretty good to me!
