Randy Quaid says Canadian refugee system saved his life!

VANCOUVER - Award-winning actor Randy Quaid says if it weren't for Canada's refugee system, he and his wife would be dead.

Quaid made the comment yesterday as he entered his immigration and refugee board hearing in Vancouver where he and his wife Evi were picked up last month on an outstanding warrant in the United States.

(The pair quickly claimed refugee status and their hearings have been conducted amid their bizarre claims of being hunted by what they call "Hollywood star whackers." )

They say many of their friends have died under mysterious circumstances and believe they could be next on the hit list.


The case became even more strange after the immigration and refugee board acknowledged that Evi Quaid could claim Canadian citizenship because her father was born in Canada.


The Canada Border Services Agency had been expected to outline why Randy Quaid should not be allowed to remain in Canada, but the hearing was adjourned to give his lawyer a chance to review the U.S allegations against him.

 This means we will have to provide extra security at the border for the next little while so those "hit teams" don't try to get at Randy and his wife.
