Eve Zinghiniwas driving north of downtown Edmonton past rows of businesses when she noticed a man taking a stroll......, in the buff!
At first, Zinghini said she thought the man was wearing a tan coloured outfit. But when she took a closer look, she noticed he had stripped down to nothing and he didn't seem to have a care in the world.
"He had no shoes or socks on. I just couldn't believe what I saw, especially in the winter," said Zinghini, who noted the man casually waved at people on a nearby bus, and was honked at by another vehicle passing by.
"He was walking like there was nothing wrong. I really thought I was seeing things."
Police said the naked man made his way into a nearby Shell gas station, then boarded a city bus before he was reported to authorities by the transit driver.
He said police were surprised with the man's calm demeanour given the fact temperatures were hovering around the -18 C mark on that morning. What's even more surprising, said Balanik, is that police only received one call about the incident.
Edmonton police Staff Sgt. Darrin Balanik said the man was taken to a nearby hospital for psychological issues. He claimed he was looking for his girlfreind, but when asked why he was doing that withut any clothes on, he replied; "I'm just crazy about that girl!"
