Oh what a ride it’s been, dear readers!
You are receiving this newsletter because I thought it was about time I introduced myself.
My name is Allan Janssen and I purchased BlogsCanada.ca last year after it had been lying dormant for over three years. When I stepped in, I didn’t realize exactly what I was getting myself into. Although I have spent most of my career in broadcasting and media, this is the first time I’ve been on the publishing side of things and needless to say, it’s been quite the learning experience.
With our team of developers, marketing experts, and the ‘Perspective Research Department’ we have now completed the basic re-design of BlogsCanada.ca. Since our official launch on the first of January, 2011, (Not even six weeks ago!) and with a powerful new Word Press platform and a fresh set of ideas, BlogsCanada.ca is now positioned to once again become Canada’s premier registry of news, information and blogging.
(Founder Jim Jelve did a wonderful job of running BlogsCanada for over five years, at one point attaining a readership of 250,000 page views per month with over100,000 readers and 10,000 subscribers. Unfortunately, other commitments forced him to become less involved with BlogsCanada.ca until it was in danger of closing altogether. I didn’t want such an important part of Canadian publishing to slip into oblivion, so as you can see from the following chart, we are well on the way to restoring BlogsCanada.ca to its former glory! After just six weeks we are within striking distance of 20,000 visits and 40-50,000 page views a month)

In addition to our regular inside pages here in The New BlogsCanada.ca we have now added a section called “Perspective on Canada.”
Situated right on the front page, we will feature the best articles and blogs by well know Canadian writers and / or myself daily in an interesting and informative way to give you, the reader, a sense of what is going on in the Canadian Blogosphere!
But, we would also like to invite YOU to participate by having us feature YOUR site or article for any cause, commentary, observation, opinion, discussion or petition that would be of interest to us Canucks!

REMEMBER: When you want information, news or opinions here in Canada, it can be found by turning on any radio or TV station, or reading any newspaper or magazine, but the information we are given is often filtered through corporate interests and the agenda of that particular media.
