The first is about an article on my site www.BlogsCanada.ca that concerns one of those preacher types that has the solution to the problems of the world!
“As civil war looms over Libya, religious leader Marshall Vian Summers claims God has delivered a revelation about the fate of the Libyan people. William Burrows, one of Summers' modern-day apostles, will present this revelation to the world on March 6th.”
Needless to say I didn’t listen to the broadcast for obvious reasons, but I did urge all the faithful to send ME money so we could continue the good work!

Subject: New Message from God PR/donation request
Hello Allan,
I am a media volunteer working for the Society for the New Message from God. I found your blog with the "God Responds to War In Libya and Upheaval in the Middle East" press release posted.
I appreciate you posting the PR as it certainly needs to be seen by as many people as possible. However, I am concerned about how you are asking for monetary donations to your account.
This appears to be done in our name and this is something we do not condone. In addition, it may not be legal. We ask that you please remove the donation request from your blog.
If you feel inspired by the New Message, I encourage you to advance your study and begin the "Steps to Knowledge" if you have not already done so. Then, let Knowledge be your guide in terms of your support in the great mission of bringing a New Message from God into the world.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Joe Bolea
Dear Joe: First: I am asking for money in MY name, not yours. I want them to send ME money!
Second: Go get a dictionary and look up the word "satire!"

Next I ran across this piece about what we are doing to the planet. Oh, I know I went on about David Suzuki and his crusades against Global Warming, etc. But I’m not a fanatic like he is so I can bring this up every now and then!

Mankind may have unleashed the sixth known mass extinction in Earth's history, according to a paper released on Wednesday by the science journal Nature.
Over the past 540 million years, five mega-wipe-outs of species have occurred through naturally-induced events.
But the new threat is man-made, inflicted by habitation loss, over-hunting, over-fishing, the spread of germs and viruses and introduced species, and by climate change caused by fossil-fuel greenhouse gases, says the study.
"It looks like modern extinction rates resemble mass extinction rates, even after setting a high bar for defining 'mass extinction," said researcher Anthony Barnosky.
IUCN).
On the assumption that these species are wiped out and biodiversity loss continues unchecked, "the sixth mass extinction could arrive within as little as three to 22 centuries," said Barnosky.
Compared with nearly all the previous extinctions this would be fast-track.
The most abrupt extinction came at the end of the Cretaceous, some 65 million years ago when a comet or asteroid slammed into the Yucatan peninsula, in modern-day Mexico, causing firestorms whose dust cooled the planet.
An estimated 76 percent of species were killed, including the dinosaurs
"So far, only one to two percent of all species have gone extinct in the groups we can look at clearly, so by those numbers, it looks like we are not far down the road to extinction." Barnosky said.
Even so, "it's very important to devote resources and legislation toward species conservation if we don't want to be the species whose activity caused a mass extinction."

Next an article that made me mad because of the sheer audacity of what these guys are trying to do!
It’s one thing to have someone prove there is NO harm in something when a lot of people think there is, but quite another to put the burden of proof on someone when only a few people think it’s dangerous.
In other words, you can make a wild claim that something is dangerous and then sue them to prove it’s NOT………! That ain’t right!

A court challenge to the Liberal government's controversial wind energy program was dismissed Thursday by the Ontario Divisional Court, but the applicants said they're not discouraged.
Ian Hanna, a small business owner from Prince Edward County, took the government to court, claiming there was no medical evidence to say a 550-metre distance between homes and industrial wind turbines was actually safe. (See – reverse psychology –Ed.)
The three judges who heard arguments in late January issued their decision Thursday, dismissing Hanna's application.

And finally, a message from a guy that The Westboro Babtist Church should be listening to. It’s not that he is going to do anything, but the point he makes is very relevant!!!!!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------
A day after the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed Westboro Baptist Church's right to protest against homosexuality at military funerals, the fallen Marine's father, who unsuccessfully sued the controversial Kansas congregation, warned that the church's protests will eventually spark violence.
"Something is going to happen," Albert Snyder told CNN Thursday. "Somebody is going to get hurt."
"You have too many soldiers and Marines coming back with post-traumatic stress syndrome, and they (the Westboro protesters) are going to go to the wrong funeral and the guns are going to go off."
"And when it does," Snyder said. "I just hope it doesn't hit the mother that's burying her child or the little girl that's burying her father or mother. It's inevitable."
(In an 8-1 decision, the high court ruled Wednesday that Westboro Baptist Church has a First Amendment right to picket military funerals, no matter how "hurtful" the message may be. The decision ended Snyder's five-year court fight on behalf of his late son, Matthew, a Marine lance corporal killed in Iraq, whose funeral was picketed by Westboro church members.)

One last thing folks!
Why is it that every time these assholes from Westboro Babtist Church demonstrate, they get a bunch of other people out there demonstrating AGAINST them? This only gives them legitimacy!
Wanna make them look even more stupid than they are? Let them stand out there by themselves and have everybody IGNORE them!
