If you ever have a chance to read the book The Slaughterhouse-Five; The Children's Crusade, it's a science fiction novel by Kurt Vonnegut about his World War II experiences and the journeys through time of a soldier called Billy Pilgrim.
Seems Billy has somehow become unstuck in time, and he flips back and forth between different days of his life with no warning what-so-ever!
Needless to say, this is somewhat confusing for us, but even more so for poor Billy who never knows from one minute to the next where he is going to be!
The book is a classic and became a hit amongst the college crowd back in the seventies, but the reason I bring it up, dear readers, is that I sometimes feel like poor old Billy Pilgrim!
Unstuck in time!
When I wake up in the morning, I sometimes get the feeling that I am at a specific age in my life as well, but that doesn't necessarily mean I will be at that stage when I wake up tomorrow,............, or yesterday!
(In other words, today I might be a middle-aged, semi-retired guy writing this story....., and tomorrow I might wake up to be that twenty year old kid working at CKLG radio in Vancouver. The next day I might be the forty something Volkswagen dealer in Sarnia, and the day after I will be the teenage kid standing out in front of my high school!)
Now here's the problem kids, you know that semi-retired, middle-aged and getting older guy I told you about?
WELL, it seems I've been him a lot of the time lately!
