TORONTO – A veteran police officer was killed in a traffic collision while off duty Thursday. Mark Grant, a 30-year veteran cop with the York Regional Police force, was 54 years old.Two other people were injured in the accident and taken to hospital, said duty inspector Gary Miner. One was Grant’s passenger, the other the driver of the pickup, according to reports.
Look folks, I regret that the man was killed in an accident, but why mention that he was an off-duty cop? All he did was get killed.
Being a cop had nothing to do with it!
Are they going to have a State funeral now, with bagpipes?
Are tomorrow’s headlines going to say:
Off-duty garbage collector killed in boating accident!I can see it now.
A long of of garbage trucks with men in coveralls marching behind.
The funeral at the town dump, with the poor deceased put in a garbage can and buried.
At least he wasn’t a sanitation worker…………….!
They just get flushed down the toilet!
