An anti-Keystone XL pipeline crusader has written to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, suggesting Canada’s aggressive lobbying for the project played a part in the ongoing government shutdown south of the border.
Tom Steyer, a San Francisco billionaire and a major Democratic party
fundraiser, chastises Harper for saying he would not “take ‘no’ for an
answer” from U.S. President Barack Obama on TransCanada’s Keystone XL.
The Perspective Research department is not sure just how the Keystone pipeline figures into the debate about Obama-care and the subsequent shut down of the U.S. Government, but down there anything is possible and nothing surprises us anymore!

Well folks, Myanmar, just like the British Isles, has a dearth of good looking women, and is finally sending its first contestant in half a century to the Miss Universe pageant.
In this Thursday photo, Moe Set Wine poses for photos after
she was crowned Miss Universe Myanmar at the National Theater in Yangon,
Myanmar.
Moe Set Wine, 25, who studied business and marketing in the U.S., was the only viable candidate among 20 other contenders Thursday night to represent her country at the 62nd Miss Universe pageant in Moscow on Nov. 9.
As we reported previously here on “Perspectifve” there are not many good looking women in the country, so there was no runner-up in the contest!

NRK producer Rune Moeklebust said Friday that “it’s kind of ordinary TV but very slow, although they’ll be knitting as fast as they can.”
The Norwegians hope to break the current non-stop knitting record of 4 hours 50 minutes, held by Australia.
Live TV in Norway has already enticed viewers with minute-by-minute salmon fishing, a five-day broadcast from a cruise-ship, and several hours of watching a fire burn itself out.

You had plenty of time yesterday to abuse Amanda Bynes .. an entirely innocent party.. and myself.. who also did nothing to deserve your abuse.. along with every other sufferer of mental health problems and every person who suffered abuse at the hands of priests.”

The feud began when O’Connor, whom Cyrus called a “role model,”
published an initial “open letter” chastising Cyrus for her hyper-sexual
persona and warning her not to “prostitute” herself. The former Disney
starlet replied by comparing O’Connor to troubled actress Amanda Bynes — currently seeking psychiatric treatment — and sharing a snapshot of O’Connor’s infamous SNL appearance in which she shredded a photo of the Pope on air.
O’Connor continues in her third letter: “You can take five minutes today between g- string f***in’ changes to publicly apologise and remove your abusive tweets. If you do not then you don’t give a sh** who you mock and what damage you do by being so ignorant.
When you publicly apologise to Amanda and myself and all mental health sufferers as well as all who were abused by priests that will end the matter as far as I am concerned.

“What you did yesterday was designed to damage me and my career and has caused me enormous distress and harassment and has potential to damage my career, since you deliberately gave the impression those tweets of mine were not two years old but reflect my current condition,” the letter continues. “If you cannot apologize I will have no choice but to bring legal proceedings against you since it is extremely hard to be given work when people think one is suffering from mental illness.
I have no interest in or desire to cause you trouble but if you do not apologise for having deliberately tried to cause me hurt and trouble personally and professionally I will have to bring pressure upon you. When you end up in the psych ward or rehab I’ll be happy to visit you.. and would not lower myself to mock you.”

I’ve seen that Afghan game where men on horseback play polo with a
goats head, so those same guys in a game of cricket just doesn’t cut it
for me!
Celebrations
have taken place across Afghanistan after its cricketers qualified for
the first time for the World Cup, to be held in 2015.
The team beat Kenya by seven wickets on Friday in their final qualifying match in Sharjah.
More than 1,000 overjoyed fans watched their convincing victory on a giant screen in a stadium in Kabul before taking to the streets in celebration.

coverage of mundane events, Norway’s public broadcasting network plans
to dedicate five hours of air-time to an attempt to break the world
knitting record.
