Do you remember that TV commercial where a guy is trying to give directions to someplace or other, and after several attempts he scratches his head and says: “Ya can’t get there from here!”
Funny eh?
NO!
It happened to me in real life today! The main intersection of downtown Byron, (which is a small village on the west end of London, Ontario) is completely torn up for new sewers and water mains and God knows what else so some moron who did the detour made it impossible to get into the village if you come down Commissioners Rd from the east.
Commissioners is the main route into Byron from London itself, and anyone going down snake hill and then along Commissioners Rd past Springbank Park will arrive at the main intersection of Boler Rd and Commissioners Rd W.
Now here comes the good part, kids!
At this intersection ya can’t go straight and ya can’t turn left ………………, SO THE ONLY THIS TO DO IS TURN RIGHT, GO OVER THE BRIDGE AND LEAVE TOWN….., AND THEN COME IN THE BACK WAY!
So like I said: “Ya can’t get there from here!

Israel!
JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Zambian President Michael Sata was receiving medical treatment in Israel on Thursday, an Israeli official said without elaborating on his condition.
The disclosure came a day after Zambian Vice President Guy Scott told parliament in Lusaka that Sata, 76, was in Israel on a “working holiday”.

Folks, there is more than enough bullshit and bad news in the world, so when a story like this comes along it’s like manna from Heaven!
Someone called 911 to report a screaming man dragging an animal along a highway in Mukilteo.
The Mukilteo police blotter says the man placed marshmallows around the animal and declared it a hazmat or hazardous materials zone.
The Daily Herald reports the raccoon was taken to a local shelter for disposal and the man was last seen getting on a bus.

——————————————Edward Gamson and Lowell Canaday said in their lawsuit they wanted to travel to Granada, Spain. Gamson said he explained his travel plans to a British Airways agent who made the reservation.
The lawsuit said the couple received an electronic ticket that referred to “Grenada” but didn’t list the country, airport code or flight duration. The couple made it to London, but their connecting flight went to the Caribbean, not Spain. They didn’t realize the mistake until they landed, the lawsuit said.

Don’t laugh, but the discovery of the oldest known human poop is offering valuable scientific insight into the life of Neanderthals who lived in Spain some 50,000 years ago.
Scientists said on Wednesday they found five samples of human fecal matter at an archeological site called El Salt, in the floor of a rock shelter where Neanderthals once lived.
They previously hypothesized that Neanderthals were largely carnivorous with perhaps some vegetables, but never before had direct evidence like these fossils provided.
“Sometimes in prehistoric societies, individuals used their teeth as tools, biting plants among other things. We can’t assume they were actually eating plants based on finding microfossils in teeth,” Sistiaga said.
The El Salt site shows evidence of long-time Neanderthal occupation, with numerous fireplaces and stone tools as well as animal and human remains.
The researchers could not identify the specific foods eaten but noted that animal remains suggested the Neanderthals hunted deer and horses.
Sistiaga said evidence showed the presence of berries, nuts and tubers but “we cannot say anything about what kind of plants were actually eaten.”
OR, as Yogi Bear once said: “Nuts and Berries…………………., yuck!”

North Korea is threatening war against the U.S. again, this time over the duo responsible for stoner movies like “Pineapple Express.”
BBC reports a North Korean foreign ministry spokesman called an upcoming Hollywood film about assassinating supreme leader Kim Jong-un an “act of war” and promised a “merciless” retaliation.
The movie in question is “The Interview,” due in theaters October 10. It stars Seth Rogen and James Franco as a producer/talk show host duo who are given the opportunity to interview Kim Jong-un – until the CIA tasks them with assassinating him. “Making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated,” the spokesman reportedly said to KCNA, Korea’s state television news. North Korea’s warnings have increased in intensity since four days ago, when they dismissed the movie as “desperation.”
He added the movie was causing a “gust of hatred and rage” among the North Korean people.

North Korea has promised “merciless” retaliation if a forthcoming Hollywood movie about killing Kim Jong-un is released, say agencies.
A North Korean foreign ministry spokesman said in state media that the movie’s release would be an “act of war”.
He did not mention the title, but a Hollywood movie called The Interview with a similar plot is due in October.
Hollywood actors James Franco and Seth Rogen star in the action-comedy film.
Rogen, who is also one of the directors of The Interview, has since responded on Twitter saying: “People don’t usually wanna kill me for one of my movies until after they’ve paid 12 bucks for it.”
Franco and Rogen play a talkshow host and his producer who are invited to interview Kim Jong-un, and are subsequently recruited by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to assassinate the leader.
The film’s teaser trailer, posted on Youtube, shows a lookalike actor playing Kim Jong-un, as well as fight scenes involving what appear to be North Korean tanks and helicopters, and a nuclear missile launch.
The North Korea spokesman was quoted by the state KCNA news agency as saying: “Making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated.”
He added that the “reckless US provocative insanity” of mobilising a “gangster filmmaker” to challenge the North’s leadership was triggering “a gust of hatred and rage” among North Korean people and soldiers.
“If the US administration allows and defends the showing of the film, a merciless counter-measure will be taken,” the spokesman was quoted as saying.
Apparent evidence emerged last week supporting claims that North Korea is further developing its missile technology. Some experts said they had identified a new anti-ship cruise missile shown in a North Korean propaganda film. Other observers were more sceptical.
North Korea is holding three Americans in custody. The latest to be detained is said to be a tourist named Jeffrey Edward Fowle who reportedly left a Bible at a hotel.
Rogen recently said he was inspired by journalists’ trips to North Korea.
He told Yahoo: “People have the hypothetical discussion about how journalists have access to the world’s most dangerous people, and they hypothetically would be in a good situation to assassinate them.”
He added that the film was originally about meeting Kim Jong-il, but they had to revise the script when he died in 2011 and his son Kim Jong-un took power.
