Well folks, the PETA People are at it again!
You know who they are, the do-gooders who want you to stop wearing fur, become a vegetarian, feed the birds and adopt a pet people!
This time the object of their wrath is once again the Calgary Stampede!
First of all, they want to ban the ‘Chuck Wagon Races’ and this is an issue which has me a little conflicted because horses do get killed at the Stampede almost every year and a good percentage of these are at the races. But, if ya look at it pragmatically,……………………………, that’s life, ya take your chances!

The other issue with the ‘group-hug’ people is the steer wrestling contest.
They say it’s mean and nasty!
untitledLook folks, if I had to bet on a 200 pound man, or a 2000 pound bull ………………………, I would take the bull just about every time!
It’s either that, or do away with the bull wrestling, and replace it with chicken chasing!
Well kids, it’s the end of an era!
Archie Andrews will die taking a bullet for his gay best friend.

imagesThe famous freckle-faced comic book icon is meeting his demise in Wednesday’s installment of “Life with Archie” when he intervenes in an assassination attempt on Kevin Keller, Archie Comics’ first openly gay character. Andrews’ death, which was first announced in April, will mark the conclusion of the series that focuses on grown-up renditions of Andrews and his Riverdale pals.
“The way in which Archie dies is everything that you would expect of Archie,” said Jon Goldwater, Archie Comics publisher and co-CEO. “He dies heroically. He dies selflessly. He dies in the manner that epitomizes not only the best of Riverdale but the best of all of us. It’s what Archie has come to represent over the past almost 75 years.”
Archie’s final moments will be detailed in “Life with Archie” No. 36, while issue No. 37 will jump forward a year and focus on the Riverdale gang honouring the legacy of their red-headed pal, who first appeared in comics in 1941 and went on to become a colorful icon of wholesomeness.
(Ya know folks, I can understand gays wanting equality, I can even forgive them for wanting a privileged position in society to make up for the years of abuse ………….., but to die for them is going a little too far bunky!)
Well folks, it’s about time this type of law came into effect!
Mallory Loyola, a 26-year-old Tennessee woman, gave birth a few days ago, and was then promptly put behind bars. She was the first to be charged under a controversial new state law that allows women who use illegal drugs while pregnant to be prosecuted for assault.
Tennessee’s law is the first of its kind in the United States. It went into effect in April. Loyola, charged on Tuesday, gave birth to a baby that tested positive for meth. She was taken into police custody as she was being discharged from the hospital and her bond was set at $2,000, according to local news reports.
Meanwhile, those “Assholes of the Day” the ACLU, wasn’t all that happy about the whole thing!
asshole trophyThe ACLU and other objectors have raised a long list of complaints about the law. “It punishes pregnant women who decide to remain pregnant despite suffering from a substance abuse problem,” Hedy Weinberg, the branch’s executive director, said in an interview. Pregnant women and new mothers are unfairly being singled out when substance abuse is a problem across the board, she said.
India is known to have religions that practice the art of meditation. Recently, the Indian court has been asked to rule if a Hindu guru is really dead or just in a deep state of meditation.
500x312xmeditation_2924694b-500x312_jpg_pagespeed_ic_DsV271aiFmThe wife and son of one of India’s wealthiest spiritual leaders, His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj, claim that their family member died in December, but his followers say otherwise.
Being the founder of the Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan religious order, his body is now being preserved in a deep freezer until he “comes back.”
A statement on the group’s website reads: “His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj ji has been in deep meditative state (samadhi) since 29th January 2014.”
“Maharaj has been in deep meditation. He has spent many years meditating in sub-zero temperatures in the Himalayas. There is nothing unusual [about] it. He will return to life as soon as he feels, and we will ensure his body is preserved until then,” one of his aides said.
His son, Dilip Jha, meanwhile, believes that members of the religious organization are holding the release of his father’s body because they do not want to give up control of his financial wealth.
The Punjab Police initially confirmed his death, but the Punjab High court took it back, saying that this is a matter of spirituality, and that they should respect his followers’ belief of him not being dead.
Well folks, the average house in Canada is now overpriced by about 20%!  (That's the average across Canada, God knows what that works out to in T.O. and Vancouver!)
It seems the Sunni insurgents in Iraq   (The former Saddam droids!) don't like the temporary peace and quiet, so they have started killing each other! (It's like I keep telling ya folks, these people are all fucking NUTS!)
The Costa Concordia was re-floated today, boys and girls.
In what has become one of the largest salvage operations in history, air was pumped into 30 large metal boxes, or sponsons, attached around the hull of the 114,500 tonne ship. The air forced out the water in the sponsons, lifting the vessel off the underwater platform.
Paying for the disaster, including breaking up the vessel and repairing the damage to Giglio, is likely to cost the ship’s owner and operator Costa Crociere, a unit of Carnival Corp, more than 1.5 billion euros (1.19 billion pounds), its chief executive said last week.

(Folks, this ship was sitting on a ledge overlooking a subterranean canyon! Why didn’t they just pull it off the ledge and let it sink into the depths!)

edward-snowdenNewly published material leaked by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden reveals that the U.S. government spied on five prominent Muslim-Americans for several years, despite a lack of evidence that they posed a potential threat to national security.
If the NSA can spy on everybody else, we would expect them to at least follow a bunch of suspicious Muslims around after 9/11 ……………., or is this just another excuse for the ACLU to bitch about something!
Prince Edward island Report!
In what’s been described as the “Crime of the Century” RCMP on Prince Edward Island say a woman has been charged after a stabbing at a home in Murray River.
Police say officers were called to the home on Friday evening after a 33-year-old man had been stabbed several times.
(He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.)

The outfit Lone Ranger actor Clayton Moore wore when making appearances as the character after retiring from television has sold for $195,000 at a Texas auction.
140712_lone_ranger_outfit_660Moore, who died in 1999, played the masked lawman on the ABC television series “The Lone Ranger” from 1949 to 1957.
The auction house says that after retiring from television, Moore made appearances in character at events including fairs.
His outfit included a powder-blue shirt and pants, red kerchief, Stetson hat, boots, gun belt and Colt pistols.
Now here’s something not many people know folks …………….., Mr. Moore was not allowed to wear a mask for some stupid legal reason so they had him appear with large sunglasses on instead!
