The ballad of "The Donald!"

Dear Readers:

The demise of Donald Drumpf has been predicted over and over by the mainstream media, but this time the writing might be on the wall.

The next few days might be a harbinger of things to come, and it's not looking all that great for "The Donald!" (For example, Ted Cruz is now considered the favourite for next Tuesday's Wisconsin primary: Ted Cruz will deal Donald Trump an emphatic defeat in Wisconsin next week. That’s according to The POLITICO Caucus – a panel of activists, strategists and operatives in 10 key battleground states. Nearly nine-in-10 Republicans in those states chose Cruz as the likely winner of next Tuesday’s Wisconsin presidential primary.)

The pundits might be right this time kids............., but I can tell you one thing for sure: If Drumpf goes it will put a lot of bloggers, writers and late night talk show hosts out of business!

The reality of a contested convention has become more real than ever, with Donald Trump facing the risk of losing Wisconsin next week, meaning he’d have to win roughly 60 percent of the remaining delegates to win the Republican presidential nomination outright.

If Trump heads into the convention without the magic number of 1,237, already more than a hundred delegates are poised to break with him on a second ballot, according to interviews with dozens of delegates, delegate candidates, operatives and party leaders.

In one of starkest examples of Trump’s lack of support, out of the 168 Republican National Committee members — each of whom doubles as a convention delegate — only one publicly supports Trump, and she knows of only a handful of others who support him privately.

While we're on the subject: Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump claimed Thursday night that his controversial remarks about punishing women who have abortions were taken out of context.

MSNBC responded later Thursday with a statement saying: "The town hall interview with Donald Trump was taped in advance and then aired in its entirety. Absolutely no part of the exchange between Trump and Chris Matthews was edited out."

Trump acknowledged later in the interview that, "It could be that I misspoke."

AND FINALLY: The violence at Trump rallies took a surprising turn this week outside his rally in Janesville, Wisconsin. In addition to the still-unidentified (yes, still) jerk who pepper-sprayed a 15-year-old girl, we also have this indisputable proof that Both Sides Do It: A hippie dude yelling at Trump supporters, calling one of them a “fat bitch” (which isn’t nice at all) and then inexplicably attempting a back flip which failed spectacularly. As protest, it was a considerable comedown from the Yippies’ 1967 attempt to levitate the Pentagon. (Folks it's a well known fact that the right wing scares the hell out of me, but this guy is a good example of why the left wing is no favourite of mine either!)
