The left-wing is crazy and the right-wing scares the shit out of me!

Don't tread on me!

Dear Readers: "Let's get things back into perspective here!"

Even though the Canada / U.S. border used to be called the longest undefended border in the world that is no longer the case. (Especially now that Trump is in the drivers seat!)

Which brings us to the question of what would happen if the United States decided to invade Canada!

Guest post by Kc Armstrong.

During the Quebec crisis of around 1970 the US discovered that it had no invasion plan already prepared, unlike for almost every other country.

A think tank was asked to come up with one.

The final document estimated a need for a measly 20,000 soldiers and 24 hours for the invasion. (Canada is long and thin so control of key locations would paralyze communication and resistance.)

The worry-some part began on day three: In order to control the country can you imagine an American soldier living in a population that speaks the same language, eats much the same food, and lives in much the same way, but must constantly be on guard for the percentage of the population that would choose to fight back when the chance arises?

The two cute blonds making eyes? The old man and his wife walking their dog?

The estimate was a garrison of up to 2,000,000 troops were needed to hold the country.

In addition, with millions of ex Canucks and their children living in the US, and some Americans upset at the invasion, the potential for a fifth column inside the US was huge.

Conclusion: Impossible to invade and win.

The way I see it anyway!
