The country of Jamaica gained its independence this year and is no longer in the British Commonwealth...
So, they have been racking their brains trying to figure out new ways of making money!
Then some 'not-too-bright-guy' noted that Benedict Cumberbatch, a big, rich movie star, had a grandfather seven generations ago who owned slaves in Jamaica! (He was the seventh son of a seventh son!)
So they decided he would be a good person to go after for compensation, reparations, restitution, damages or atonement for owning slaves back then!
