(We're talking about Saudi Arabia,bunky!)
A Saudi Arabian court has sentenced a 75-year-old Syrian woman to 40 lashes, four months imprisonment and deportation from the kingdom for having two unrelated men in her house, according to local media reports.(On a side note here, that must really make the Saudi male feel macho and boost his ego to be able to do that to a physically weaker person! Of course, if you get tired of beating the wife and kids, you can always kick the dog!)
According to the Saudi daily newspaper Al-Watan, troubles for the woman, Khamisa Mohammed Sawadi, began last year when a member of the religious police entered her house in the city of Al-Chamli and found her with two unrelated men, "Fahd" and "Hadian."
Fahd told the policeman he had the right to be there, because Sawadi had breast-fed him as a baby and was therefore considered to be a son to her in Islam, according to Al-Watan. Fahd, 24, added that his friend Hadian was escorting him as he delivered bread for the elderly woman. The policeman then arrested both men.
The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, feared by many Saudis, is made up of several thousand religious policemen charged with duties such as enforcing dress codes, prayer times and segregation of the sexes.
Under Saudi law, women face many restrictions, including a strict dress code and a ban on driving.
Women also need to have a man's permission to travel.
Al Watan obtained the court's verdict and reported it was partly based on the testimony of the religious police. In his ruling, the judge said it was proved that Fahd is not Sawadi's son through breastfeeding.Efforts to reach Saudi officials at the Justice Ministry, religious police and other agencies were unsuccessful. A spokesman for the Saudi embassy in Washington said he had no details on the case.
The court also doled out punishment to the two men. Fahd was sentenced to four months in prison and 40 lashes; Hadian was sentenced to six months in prison and 60 lashes.
This is not the first Saudi court case to cause controversy.
In 2007, a 19-year-old gang-rape victim in the Saudi city of Qatif was sentenced to 200 lashes and six months in prison for meeting with an unrelated male. The seven rapists, who abducted the woman and man, received sentences ranging from 10 months to five years in prison. The actions of the religious police have come under increased scrutiny in Saudi Arabia recently, as more and more Saudis urge that the commission's powers be limited.
The case sparked international outrage and Saudi King Abdullah subsequently pardoned the "Qatif Girl" and the unrelated male.
Al-Lahem, who has taken on many high-profile cases in recent years, represented the girl and received an award from Human Rights Watch last year. However, a travel ban issued by Saudi authorities kept him from traveling to London, England, to receive it.
"This is the problem with the religious police," added Al-Huwaider, "watching people and thinking they're bad all the time. It has nothing to do with religion. It's all about control. And the more you spread fear among people, the more you control them. It's giving a bad reputationAMEN!

While we are on the subject of Saudi Arabia, CNN also tells us.....!
Saudi Arabia's religious police detained two male novelists for questioning last week after they attempted to get the autograph of a female writer at a book fair in Riyadh, according to local media reports. And if that's not enough to make you want to go there for a holiday, then maybe this will!
According to the Saudi daily newspaper Al-Watan, Abdu Khal and Abdullah Thabet approached female writer Halima Muzfar when they were stopped by police.
Both novelists, who were held for questioning but not charged with a crime, are demanding an apology from the conservative Muslim kingdom's Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
Police in the Saudi Arabian city of Mecca Wednesday arrested a woman for violating the country's ban on women driving, according to the Saudi English-language daily Arab News.Looks like the only driving women will be doing over there is being driven to distraction!
The woman, whose nationality and name were not released but who was described as being in her 20s, attempted to flee when she realized police had spotted her driving, Saudi authorities said.
"The woman tried to escape when she saw a police car and in the process hit another car, which was slightly damaged," Maj. Abdul Mushin Al-Mayman, a police spokesman, told Arab News.
According to the spokesman, the woman was turned over to the Saudi Prosecution and Investigation Commission for investigation.

And on a different note, a few thoughts on that dizzy broad that had eight kids a few weeks ago! Remember her? Sure ya do, She's the one that did a bad job of trying to make herself look like Angelina Jolie!
Now, first and foremost, we all know that there is something wrong with this woman.
But, over the last few days she proved something that I have suspected all along.
When a person displays "insane" or "nutty" or "bizarre" behaviour..... like having 14 kids with no means of support, you can bet your sweet bippy that they ain't too normal in other matters as well.
After all, why should they just be nuts about only one thing!
No sir!
If you're nuts then it sort of taints everything you do, kid!
That's right folks, it's not just an isolated example.
If you're loopy, then ya got all sorts of bats, all over your belfry, yes sir!
Nadya Suleman has gone through a bunch of people who came on board to try and help her out and manage her affairs during the past few weeks.
The latest of these, publicist Victor Munoz quit for "personal reasons" on Friday March 6, saying that the mother of octuplets was "nuts. .....!
(That's all, no great explanation needed! Nuts pretty well covered it!)
Victor Munoz tells Perspective that he quit as Suleman's rep Friday night.
"It just got to be too much," he says. "Not to sound arrogant, but those people depended on me for everything," he continues. "Nadya got real greedy. This woman is nuts," he adds.
Well, just remember boys and girls, "crazy is as crazy does!"
