Healthy yes, just nuts!

I don't know why I tell you stuff like what I'm going to rant about today, except maybe in the remote hope that somebody will wake up one day and straighten the world out....... but don't count on it!

(I guess maybe I'm trying to get myself elected, or appointed, to the job of "straighten things out" guy, but so far no one is taking me seriously!)

I mentioned my upcoming hip operation yesterday, and this drew my attention to my health card (O.H.I.P.)......... it was about to expire.

That little card entitles me to free, unlimited health care, and is worth it's weight in gold, so there was no way I was going to let the coverage lapse.

I started doing the paperwork to renew it!

Even though I already had a card the government made me jump through hoops to get a new one.

You won't believe what they wanted!

(Now, I know they don't want fraud committed with health cards..... but this is getting nuts!)

-They wanted a copy of my passport, or a birth certificate.

-They wanted a copy of my drivers license.

-They wanted a copy of a utility bill to prove my current address.

-A credit card with my signature.

-A copy of the old health card.

-Banking information.

A note from my mother! (Thank God she's still alive!)

Now here comes the kicker kids........ "health cards" (With your picture on it!) are not accepted as proof of I.D. with almost all financial institutions and government offices.

Go figure!
