Allan's Perspective is not recommended for the politically correct, or the overly religious! Some people have opinions, and some have convictions ..., what we offer is Perspective! (Sometimes I feel like I'm just a bobble-head on the highway of life!)

I was addicted to the hokey pokey, but I turned myself around!

Tell me a story!

Evolution is an undisputable fact within the scientific community and in academia, where the level of support for evolution is essentially universal. The support for Abrahamic accounts or other creationist alternatives is very low among scientists, and virtually nonexistent among scientists in the relevant fields. However, 46% of Americans in general believe that “God created humans in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years.”

The debate is sometimes portrayed as being between science and religion. However, as the United States National Academy of Sciences states:

Today, many religious denominations accept that biological evolution has produced the diversity of living things over billions of years of Earth’s history. Many have issued statements observing that evolution and the tenets of their faiths are compatible. Scientists and theologians have written eloquently about their awe and wonder at the history of the universe and of life on this planet, explaining that they see no conflict between their faith in God and the evidence for evolution. Religious denominations that do not accept the occurrence of evolution tend to be those that believe in strictly literal interpretations of religious texts.

The publication of Charles Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection” in 1859 brought scientific credibility to evolution, and made it a respectable field of study!
