The Expendables 3, the third entry in Sylvester Stallone’s action movie old folks home which has been distracting us with its very crowded poster, comes out this weekend.
The film itself looks like a shrug-worthy, gun-laden action B-movie that would barely be acknowledged if not for its ridiculous cast of action superstars, past and present, and new and implausible cast additions, like Kelsey Grammer in a fisherman’s hat.
Even with ol’ Kelse in the mix, I’m not that excited for Expendables 3. But the cast is an utter treasure trove for head-to-head- rankings.

Folks, I’m not sue whether it’s the CULTURE, the RELIGION, or the RACE, (Or a combination of them?) but there is something seriously wrong in the MIDDLE-EAST!!
A Saudi father gave his ex-wife the shock of her life when he informed her he was taking their 10 and 11 year-old-sons to join Islamist militants in Syria, telling her to count them as “birds in heaven”, Saudi-owned media reported.
The pan-Arab al-Hayat newspaper said on Tuesday that the unsuspecting mother had been told that her sons, Abdullah and Ahmed, were going on holiday with their father, identified as Nasser al-Shayeq, in a neighboring Gulf Arab country when she saw an Instagram photo of them in Turkey.
Al-Hayat said she telephoned her son to ask about the photo, only to receive a message from her ex-husband, a former Saudi civil servant, to say that he was taking the boys to Syria to join Islamic State, one of the most militant groups fighting to topple President Bashar al-Assad.
“Count your children as birds in heaven,” Shayeq said in his message, according to al-Hayat, suggesting that they may be killed and become young “martyrs”
Fellow Islamic State militants later posted a photo of the father and his two sons crouching in front of Islamic State’s black flag, with each boy brandishing an AK-47 rifle in one hand. The father was smiling as one of the boys also held a grenade in his other hand.

A web of pipelines runs under Canada, moving water, sewage, oil, natural gas and other substances. We take them pretty much for granted unless one of them breaks, then we repair it and move on.
At least we used to take them for granted, until a growing chorus of protest put oil pipelines especially into public consciousness.
Now environmentalists are fingering pipelines as dangerous agents of climate change, not to mention potential sources of ecological disaster.
There are three major pipeline projects on the drawing board in Canada and all are meeting stiff resistance, not to mention widespread opposition to the U.S. Keystone XL pipeline that would take Alberta oilsands crude to the Gulf Coast.
Protesters in Ontario are attempting to slow down work on Enbridge Inc.’s Line 9 project, which would reverse the east-west flow of a 40-year-old oil pipeline so crude from western sources, including Alberta’s oilsands, could reach refineries and export terminals in the east.
A group called the Community Response Unit for Decontaminating our Environment set up a blockade in Toronto, and several aboriginal protesters were arrested Sunday for trying to block work at a site near Woodstock, Ont., The Canadian Press reported.
Both NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair and Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau have said they oppose Northern Gateway. West said the hope is that if either opposition party defeats the Conservatives, they would reform the environmental assessment process. Critics have challenged it in court, arguing changes made by the government violate Canadians’ Charter rights by restricting public participation.
The ultimate goal, said West, is to move the conversation to the bigger question of how to replace fossil fuels with cleaner energy sources in the long term and, meanwhile, conserve their use to decrease the volume of greenhouse gases going into the atmosphere.
“Until we get there we’re really going to be playing a game of whack-a-mole with different projects and proposals as they continue to pop up,” he said.

Well, Canada’s ‘prince of pot’ Mark Emery is back where it all started……………, right here in London, Ontario!
Kids, your long suffering reporter doesn’t care where Marc goes, or what Marc says, but now that he’s back in town I’m going to have to listen to this asshole every night on the news!
Him and his buddy Justin!

SPEAKING OF JUSTIN TRUDEAU: I couldn’t believe my ears or my eyes yesterday when I saw Justin make a comment that the transparency of Indian Chiefs salary and other money they received from the Federal Government was an insult to the tribes!
I don’t know what to say about that comment because it’s wrong on so many levels ……….., it’s stupid, it’s condescending to the indians, it makes absolutely no sense, it perpetuates the ‘status quo’ on the Reserves, and it’s an open invitation for more abuse of the system!
Way to go Justin!
