Allan's Perspective is not recommended for the politically correct, or the overly religious! Some people have opinions, and some have convictions ..., what we offer is Perspective!

Consciousness is not a phenomenon of the observable universe. It is that which makes the universe observable. Consciousness is the physical manifestation of God within us!

Winner of the Day!

Folks, we are going to make Emily Overholt our "Winner of the day" in spite of being disqualified during a swim meet at the Pan Am Games!

Canada’s streak of gold medals in the Pan American Games pool halted Thursday with a disqualification.
Emily Overholt of West Vancouver, B.C., out-touched Caitlin Leverenz of the U.S. to finish first in the women’s 400 individual medley, but the youngest member of the Canadian swim team was disqualified for a “non-simultaneous” wall touch during the breaststroke leg of the race.
Swimming Canada appealed the disqualification, but it was upheld by officials.

The reason she's still a winner? Because the woman showed a lot of class in accepting her defeat, and we would love to show you the video, but the CBC isn't letting anyone else use it!!

Get a load of THIS, bunky!

Scientists are currently cultivating a marine plant that's packed with more nutrients than the trendy green superfood kale.

And it naturally tastes like bacon.

Bacon-flavored crackers.

Bacon-flavored salad dressing.

These are just some of the savory treats that have been created so far using the domesticated strain of dulse (Palmaria palmata), a kind of red algae, or seaweed, that typically grows in the waters along northern Pacific and Atlantic coastlines.

Officials say a propeller has fallen off a single-engine plane and sliced through the roof of a home in upstate New York. The Daily Gazette of Schenectady reports the owners of the home in the Montgomery County hamlet of Hagaman were out when the accident occurred around 2 p.m. ET Thursday.

Calgary man charged with kicking puppy like a football:

– A Calgary man has been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly kicking a puppy in an attack n a school field.o
Erin Tajiri says her five-month-old Corgi-mini/Australian Shepherd puppy named Lil-E was leashed and tied to a lawn chair while she was playing in a softball game at Father Lacombe High School.
Tajiri says a man walking across the field approached and the puppy stood waiting, wagging her tail in excitement.

But she says the man started running toward Lil-E and suddenly kicked her as though she were a football.
Witness Kim Ehrhardt says when he was confronted, the man said “dogs have no feelings.”
Lil-E had to have emergency surgery to reattach a piece of her shoulder blade that was broken off in the attack.
(REMEMBER THIS GUYS NAME!) John Kueth-Teny, 40, has been charged with injuring an animal without lawful cause. If convicted, the accused could face up to five years in jail or a fine of up to $10,000.
In an effort to assist with Lil-E’s veterinary bills, a GoFundMe crowdfunding account was created. As of Thursday afternoon, donations have exceeded the organizer’s $5,000 fundraising goal.
