Scalia's death not that great a tragedy!

Dear Readers:

I don't know about you, but I find it hard to see why the Republicans think the death of  Chief Justice Antonin Scalia is such a big disaster!

(Well, O.K. I know exactly why they think that .........., but let's face it, this guy was behind everything your humble reporter finds wrong with the United States!)

By sheer force of intellect and personality, Scalia helped to move the court from a somewhat sloppy, results-oriented, center-left institution to a more intellectually rigorous center-right court that forefronts text and history over other modes of interpretation. In the course of this, he (along with a handful of other judges and academics) gave birth to the modern conservative legal movement.

He was against any form of gun control, any form of abortion, any form of socialism, any form of gay rights, any reduction in military spending, any affirmative action and breaks for blacks in the judicial system, against the teaching of evolution in schools, an avid climate change denier, a hard core capitalist favouring Reaganomics and the 1%, and the guy who gave the election to George W Bush in 2000!!!!

TRUTH BE TOLD KIDS, I THINK THE UNITED STATES IS A LOT BETTER OFF WITHOUT HIM!
