Put down the phone and pull over buddy!

I don't know why they won't release his name, but Richmond RCMP announced earlier this week that a driver, who allegedly almost struck a police car last month while distracted, has been hit with a driving prohibition. (Officers discovered a record of repeat offences when they pulled the driver over in March.)

As a warning to others on the road, the Richmond RCMP tweeted an image of the driver's record, which showed a dozen other distracted driving priors issued between 2011 and 2015 throughout the province.

Seven of the 14 tickets were accumulated during a one-year span, from October 2013 to June 2014.

While other B.C. residents were pleased to hear the news, some wondered if the driving ban would actually keep the driver off the road, or if he will just rack up a bunch of "driving while disqualified" tickets!

Three motorcycle-riding assailants hacked and shot a student activist to death as he was walking with a friend in Bangladesh’s capital, police said Thursday. (The killing on Wednesday night follows a string of similar attacks last year, when at least five secular bloggers and publishers were killed, allegedly by radical Islamists.)
Police suspect 28-year-old Nazimuddin Samad was targeted for his outspoken atheism in the Muslim-majority country according to Dhaka Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Nurul Amin.
The assailants, who had been riding a single motorcycle, escaped after the assault while shouting, “Allahu Akbar,” or “Allah is great.”
