Well folks, in spite of everything else going on "over there," it seems they decided to have a little party in Turkey yesterday.
From what we have been able to gather Turkey was heading down the same path that 'Muslim Brotherhood' guy in Egypt (Mohamed Morsi) tried to take.
By that I mean they started to become more religious and less secular with the clergy starting to make all the rules and Morsi becoming the rules enforcer. (Fortunately the army stepped in and put things into perspective again.)
Seems the same thing was happening in Turkey where big shit Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was starting to think about wearing a crown, and the Muslim clerics had dreams of sugarplums dancing in their heads ...., when the army decided to set things right again!
All the Western countries applauded the failure of the coup, but unfortunately the end result of all these shenanigans is that Turkey, unlike Egypt, will crown Erdogan as Emperor and Sharia law will become the eventual norm in that country. (Plus a mass purge of the coup plotters and anyone else the state considers dangerous will begin!)
This is the exact situation that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk tried to avoid when Turkey became a Republic almost a hundred years ago kids. (P.S. Don't expect Turkey to get into the E.U. ------- EVER!)
