Saturday Morning Confusion Double Header.

 Dear Friends: "Let's get things back into perspective here!

We are going to give you two issues for the price of one today since they both need to be addressed.

FIRST OF ALL:

This whole mess with Al Franken: (Sophomoric: Lacking in maturity, taste, or judgment)

Take a look at this picture and notice that he is not actually touching the woman but is rather pulling a stupid and juvenile effort at some sophomoric prank that's more in keeping with a high school or college student! (And that's being kind folks.)

Did what Al Franken tried to pull of in the picture display a lack of judgement and poor taste?

Yes, definitely.

Did it show any nefarious intention or action, or, God forbid, a criminal intent?

No, not really.

Now about kissing the woman.

Did he kiss her during the rehearsal of a skit or play that called for him kissing her.

Yes, I believe he did, and I also believe that although he didn't actually have to kiss her during the rehearsal but he did it because he thought it might be funny?

Did he stick his tongue down her throat?

No, I don't believe that for a second......, but it makes for great publicity for the woman that accused him of this impropriety. (She has a radio show to promote as well kids!)

The long and the short of this whole thing is that even though "no means no," there are different degrees of sexual harassment and assault. You can't paint everything with one brush and you certainly can't equate what Al Franken did with the likes of Donald Trump or Roy Moore!

EVEN THOUGH THE REPUBLICANS WOULD LIKE TO!

Now, about the agenda of the Republicans in general:

There is a site I sometimes read called "Towmhall.com" that is a right wing apologist for all things dear to the Alt-Right.

None of what they say makes much sense, but they sure do toe the party line and espouse all the talking points of the Far Right whether it makes any sense of not.

Here is part of an article they had on energy and bringing back coal! (And never mind that they want to resurrect an eighteenth century technology here in the twenty first century.)

Attempting to abate, control or limit CO2 from electric power facilities has consequences. 

It means creating “carbon capture and storage” systems that don’t work, are huge energy hogs, drive up electricity prices and leave us with the massive, unaddressed problem of where to put all the carbon dioxide – depriving crop and habitat plants of this miracle nutrient, and risking sudden catastrophic CO2 eruptions from whatever underground storage facilities might actually get approved. (Then why don't you just spew it into the atmosphere? -Ed.)

It means forcing the premature shutdown of fully functional coal and gas-fired power plants, with no viable alternatives to replace them. 

Virginia has two nuclear power plants, and it is unlikely that the current or incoming Democratic governor (or any of their “progressive” supporters) would support building new nuke units or even new pumped storage systems in the state’s mountainous areas.

Yup, I don't know if these people are just delusional, or outright dangerous,  but I do know I wouldn't want them in my neighbourhood!
