A slip of the tongue!

Despite its drawbacks and failings the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp) has still got a lot on the ball, as witnessed by this example.

(It's not really about Evolution and Creationism, but rather as an example of how people used that to spin the meaning of things to suit their own purposes!)

They were doing an articvle in the news about the sale of one of the original books on "The Origin of Species," of which twelve hundred were published.

This copy sold for $70 grand!

Now up until very recently they would have said the book was about "Darwin's Theory of Evolution," but the Creationist nuts have "spun" that title around so much that instead of rightly using the term to mean "explanation," (As in the "Theory of Gravity") they take it to mean "The 'Guess' about Evolution!" [And a wrong guess at that!]

OK, back to the story!

So as not to give in to any doubt as to what they (The CBC) meant about the book, instead of calling it the normal "Theory of Evolution," they referred to it as "The first book to give an "explanation" of evolution!

Good for them!

Allan, where do you find these folks? What an excellent approach. Flatly accepts that evolution is, and that Darwin's book is a first shot at an explanation of the mechanism. Simple and effective.As for your friends (trolls?) above... let's just stick with simple.

What are those Creationists up to now?!!Didn't they ever hear about the Scopes Trial?Evolution is a fact, creationism disperses at the Age of Reason!There is NO End of Days, it is metaphorical at best. The pity is all these Creationists lead their narrow lives while here on this planet and will die before they ever experience life!
