I don’t know what the world is coming to, but the P.C. crowd is really stretching in their latest yammering of outrage.
This time around it’s President Obama for some comments he made about the Attorney General of California!
Now I don’t know about you bunky, but I can’t fault Barack for that
statement ………….., after all, my mother told me that you could never get
in trouble for telling the truth!
However, the P.C. crowd got all up in arms over the perceived transgression and some of the more vocal members of the feminist movement started yapping like a pack of rabid french poodles.
Even the people who were giving Obama the benefit of the doubt, ended up catering to the feminists to a certain degree:
Well rest assured that we here at “The Perspective Research Department” have already done so folks!
I gotta tell ya, Obama wasn’t lyin’.
SO!
I do have a simple solution for the P.C. crowd.
Next time around we will let Obama pick an ugly broad!

You have to be careful to, first of all, say she is
brilliant and she is dedicated and she is tough, and she is exactly what
you’d want in anybody who is administering the law, and making sure
that everybody is getting a fair shake. She also happens to be by far
the best-looking attorney general in the country — Kamala Harris is
here. (Applause.) It’s true. Come on. (Laughter.) And she is a great
friend and has just been a great supporter for many, many years. [via The Los Angeles Times]

For those who don’t see the problem here, the degree
to which women are judged by their appearance remains an important
hurdle to gender equality in the workforce. Women have a hard time being
judged purely on their merits. Discussing their appearance in the
context of evaluating their job performance makes it worse. It’s not a
compliment. And for a president who has become a cultural model for many
of his supporters in so many other ways, the example he’s setting here
is disgraceful. [New York]
Obama’s comment is so mild and so tempered by praise
for her intelligence that it might not even count — the audience
laughed, didn’t they? — but now that the most famous man in the world
has made an issue of how she looks, so will everyone else who stumbles
across this story. She’ll be objectified by millions of people in the
next day or two as they find out what he said and then Google her to
render their own hot-or-not verdict.
