Dear Readers:
We don’t want to be called poor losers ………..!
BUT!
There were some irregularities in the judging yesterday!
Oh, it might just be sour grapes because the U.S. team was spectacular as well, but there were rumours of U.S. and Russian vote fixing for skate dancing!
First the headlines!
Virtue and Moir had been hoping to join Russians Oksana Grishuk and
Evgeny Platov as the only couples to have won back-to-back ice dance
golds but instead had to settle for silver with 190.99.
The Canadian couple, who had charmed the world four years ago by winning gold on home ice in Vancouver, were delighted with their classical interpretation of Petit Adagio, Waltz in Concerto No.2. They ended their stirring four minute programme with their palms pressed to their hearts but despite earning their season’s best score of 114.66 for the free dance, they simply could not topple the Americans, who have been unbeatable for 22 months.

A Florida artist is facing criminal charges after
deliberately dropping a vase by dissident Chinese artist Ai Weiwei in an
apparent protest.
Maximo Caminero, 51, was charged with criminal mischief after breaking the $1m (£600,000) vase on Sunday in Miami.
The Florida artist said he would hold a news conference on Tuesday to explain the act. He told the Miami New Times that he did indeed destroy the vase in protest.
“I did it for all the local artists in Miami that have never been shown in museums here,” he told the newspaper. “They have spent so many millions now on international artists, I think it’s about time they gave the local guys a shot!”

NBC’s “Late Night,” he left no doubt Monday that “The Tonight Show” now
fits him like a glove.

Now here’s something that could have saved Ireland in the nineteenth century, and might calm your fears about “genetically modified” foods!
However, since then, he’s received four parking tickets.
The worst part is he can’t get them off his windshield!

There was a short video on You Tube that I wanted to see, but I had to endure a 30 second commercial to watch a 17 seco0nd clip!!!!!
From now on I refuse to watch any video that has more than a 15 seconds of commercial in it!
I am not going to be subjected to ads anymore, that are longer than what it is I want to see!

SOCHI, RUSSIA Meryl Davis and Charlie White became
the first Americans to win the Olympic ice dance title with a sultry,
spellbinding performance to Scheherazade at the Sochi Games on Monday.
In a showdown with rivals and Canadian training partners Tessa Virtue
and Scott Moir, the American pair proved to be a cut above the rest by
winning with a record total of 195.52.

Police say Mr Caminero told them he broke the art work in protest at
the Perez Art Museum Miami’s failure to exhibit work by local artists.
A security guard told police officers that Mr Caminero picked up a
coloured vase that was part of a floor installation, and when told to
put it down, smashed it on the floor, according to a police affidavit. The Florida artist said he would hold a news conference on Tuesday to explain the act. He told the Miami New Times that he did indeed destroy the vase in protest.

Now-a-days people are buying at places like Walmart, or upscale

As promised during the much-promoted run-up to his “Tonight Show”
debut, Fallon made no drastic changes to the “Late Night” formula that
had served him for five years.
He remained funny, gracious, bubbly and, above all, comfortable
presiding over a show that was different mostly for its earlier time
slot, its classier production values and legendary brand name.

This guy proves that old adage: “Once an Asshole, always an asshole!”
Prosecutors released audio today of several jailhouse
calls placed by Michael Dunn — the man at the center of another
controversial Florida trial — shedding new light on his mindset in the
initial days after he fatally shot 17-year-old Jordan Davis over a
confrontation over loud music.
“I’m the [expletive deleted] victim here. I was the one who
was victimized,” says Dunn, 47, in one of the calls in which he appeared
to chuckle while speaking about his predicament. “I’m the victor but I
was the victim too.”
In a separate call with his fiancé Rhonda Rouer, Dunn makes the
connection between his situation and scenarios where police officers
doubt rape victims.http://news.yahoo.com/39-victim-39-says-loud-music-trial-shooter-030932610–abc-news-topstories.html

Now here’s something that could have saved Ireland in the nineteenth century, and might calm your fears about “genetically modified” foods!
British scientists have developed genetically modified potatoes that are resistant to the vegetable’s biggest threat – blight.
A three-year trial has shown that these potatoes can thrive despite being exposed to late onset blight.
That disease has plagued farmers for generations and it triggered the Irish potato famine in the 1840s.
(Of course, on the downside, that would also have meant there would
be a lot fewer people of Irish descent here in North America!)

A double-amputee says he continues to receive parking tickets, despite having a permit to park without plugging his meter.
Steve Simonar lost both his arms in a boating accident almost 30
years ago. He’s physically unable to put money into a parking meter and
was given a special permit by the city last year. However, since then, he’s received four parking tickets.
The worst part is he can’t get them off his windshield!
